Hello, let me admit up front that I am a life coach and I'm interested in helping other fibro/cfs etc folks deal with this.
However, I am not here to sell you anything, I want to learn how you are getting through it. Do you go to counselling? Do you go to a therapist, a psychiatrist or maybe you just rely on your spouse and friends?
Please no that your privacy is guaranteed. I only want to learn.
My Pain doctor sent me to a psychiatrist. Her response after talking to me was to let my pain doctor know that if he would help the pain issue I wouldn't need her.
That being said - one of the great things about groups like this one is that there are people here who understand what we face each day. We can share things that have helped and things that didn't. We can share when life is rough and when its good. We can laugh at our Fibro Fog moments and cry at our Fibro Pain.
Anyone who deals with a chronic pain condition will face depression from time to time. It takes a lot out of a person to live this way. We mourn for the person we used to be, the dreams we used to have, the life we used to live.... Then we set out eyes forward and make new dreams, become the person we need to be and live a life to the best of our abilities.
Some have supportive families and/or friends. Others not so much. Here though is a place we can just be ourselves - in whatever situation life throws us - and it's ok.
