When horses got lame and broken in the old days; they shot'em; put them out of their misery. I have days that I really wish I was a horse. Put an end to it. Since I was a little girl, my teeth hurt, my ears hurt..I was hardly ever sick like other kids. I grew up in the country, the oldest of four, you cowboyed up or sucked it up in those days. I am sixty one now and I'm still trying to suck it up. I have fibro, hepc, copd, cirrhosis from a leaking bile duct that the Dr's always said was a normal enough gallbladder, no gallstones in there. No,the gallstone was stuck in my liver duct, the bile eroded the duct. After the first eight or nine visits to ers or drs, I quit hollaring. That began in my fortys; I had it removed in 2013. BUT the fibromyalgia has always been in the picture. Just didn't know what to call it .
Hey Deomz, Hi there ! Just got done reading your Post and Wow! You really are tough .(you have survived a whole lot). I also ,grew up with the same kind of Golden oldies rules for living.. My father was military, and we just had to suck it up and quit your whining, you're not sick ,its all in your head...etc etc.Now , I still find myself, trying to "Suck it up"... In my profession , nurses heal and give care. When in reality, some of us are struggling with real chronic diseases ourselves...I remember many patients they looked better and felt better than I did. ( most were nicely medicated for pain) lol... Anyway, I am glad you stopped in and I hope you stay with our community. There is an awful lot of love here for everyone. Love and Blessings, Terri
Welcome to the community Deomzig! Darn tootin' the cowboys shot their horses. Dr Kevorkian was like the cowboys, but you had to be terminal... and he went to prison. Like Terri said, you're a fighter.
I'm learning to fight, especially when docs don't listen. I had my gallbladder removed after 2 years of documented er visits and symptoms; totally diseased with stones & gangrene. I also have fibro, OA, DDD, TMJD, and many more issues; 4-5 new this year (in the fog I lost count). I started a sjogrens flare last week with painful, swollen joints in my hands & back, dry mouth, nose, throat, & cough. Then I got laryngitis Sunday. My ENT doc scoped me Tuesday, and now I'm sick with URI I think, or else the flu. As bad as I feel I'm doing everything I can to get better. Third year in a row I've been sick &/or injured on New Years... sucks!
But finding this community has really helped so much, to merry people who understand chronic pain, without judgement or ridicule. You'll find support here. Make yourself at home & we welcome your input! 😷🙏🌼
