Thinking aloud

Dec 30, 2015 10:54 PM

So my stepmom asked me while we were talking. I told her what had happened this evening with the abscess. She posed a question to me which really got me thinking. How about asking for a referral to one of the infectious disease specialists in either Philly(Jefferson or UPenn) or even Hopkins? There has got to be another reason that this keeps happening for no rhyme or reason. Anybody have any suggestions or thoughts on the matter? It's not only become a real source of frustration but frankly it's becoming a quality of life issue as well for me anyway.

Amanda if you feel that you need to see another Dr in infections control then that's what you do. Maybe these Dr's are missing something. Praying, love and seding hugs your way.

Amanda, if you keep having chronic abscesses and MRSA, there must be a reason why. They may be missing something. If you go, you may be pleasantly surprised as they may find the reason and stop them. (Or at least drastically reduce their recurrences). You sure have nothing to lose but aggravation and pain. {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻

Alwayz, the most aggravating thing tonight is that it's keeping me awake already.

I think your stepmom is right. And like one of my docs said, "It's time for a new set of eyes to look at your situation.". Get your PCP or GYN to refer you if the surgeon won't; he may feel insulted because you want a second opinion. (((Hugs))) & prayers! 😷🙏🌼

Flappys, it's not a second surgical opinion that I wanted. It's a second opinion from an infectious disease specialist. Looks like I'll be calling them after my appointment on Monday morning, but I already know where that will take me. Another round of IV antibiotics. Also going to insist that the gyns office calls the surgeons office ASAP to let them know what the hell is going on. Until then, it's a pj kind of weekend again.
