Tietze syndrome/costochondritis

Aug 19, 2017 7:34 AM

Anyone with Tietze syndrome/costochondritis who also has trouble breathing which makes you feel very weak and unstable?

I was diagnosed with costichondritis. With that I sometimes have shortness of breath and coughing spells. The doctor said breathing issue was caused by asthma. He gave me albuterol inhaler for that. It seems to help.

Hi sorry for asking but I really think I have Tietze syndrome how did you get diagnosed?

Aug 19, 2017 9:21 AM

@LAT I had an inhaler before but I didn't help me at all. So the last time I was at my doctor I asked about my breathing problems again. He said the inhaler I tried works on most kinds of asthma so he was skeptical about me having asthma.

I get very easily out of breath and feel like I can't really breathe out. On bads days, like yesterday and today, Im having shortness of breath and coughing as though to clear my lungs. And this is a problem both when I'm resting and in movement.

@LitteLola I was diagnosed after I had some blood tests to rule out other conditions. There isn't really any specific test to get diagnosed so when they couldn't find anything on the blood work they went on what I described and what the doctor could feel/se from my reaction where it hurts.
