Tips for visit to the Rheumatologist?

Jun 01, 2016 11:17 PM

Ok as the next week draws near so does my first appointment with the Rheumatologist. Any tips for the first visit? I want to be prepared and I am praying that this is a good one who actually listens. Thanks for any tip's!

Bring your records, and expect to not get any answers until you get more labs done (next appointment at a minimum). Bring everything to make sure you're comfortable since the wait can be so long. Good luck for an efficient and caring doctor!

It seems to me they work more by process of elimination so it seemed like my appointments were non productive. Definitely take records especially labs that have already been done.

That I have, lab tests that were already done and the results. I have also written down new symptoms I have been having to try and get some answers to.

Also write down any questions you want to ask, and prioritize them from most important to least important. If you don't get too ask them all you should at least cover the most important ones. Hugs & prayers this is the doc you've been waiting for! 🙂💕🙏🌼

What issues are you having

Pinklotus, I have Sjogren's Syndrome, and this will be the first Rheumatologist I have seen since the diagnosis and I also have osteoarthritis in my back that had spread to my hip. I have also been having problems with the bottom's of my feet hurting even if I don't walk on them and my primary care doctor checked for plaintes factitious and didn't have any that's the other reason for the visit.
