This app has a very supportive group of people who will offer advice when needed, listen to to rant and vent when you can't with "normal" people because the can't understand as they don't live in the pain we do, we will celebrate your happy times and achievements with you and try to be as positive as possible! There are a couple of posts running which one is people doing crafty stuff despite our limitations, there are a couple of posts running which joke quotes to make people laugh....and some laugh soo hard they don't quite make it too the loo!!! And there are another couple of posts that are fun just to take your mind off things for a minute or two.
If you feel that there isn't a post that covers being more positive then start a post we'd all love to join in, anything that helps bring joy and positivity in to our world is very welcome.
Unfortunately people who know nothing of our situations, diagnosis and/or how we feel will judge us. My dad is one of the worst culprits for this and I have to keep reminding him that he's not walking in my shoes or taking a little wonder round my head....I don't think anyone would come out sane after that!!! 😂😨😂😨😂....sorry my humour is a little warped and very sarcastic! There are a couple of things that we could do when these people judge us.....1. Try to educate them, you could give them the links for the spoon theory and "the letter to normals" and you can explain what you feel like. 2. If you're unable to find the right words then respond with something like "you're not in my shoes so it's not your place to judge" or you could just ignore them. And I had a third when I started typing but my fogginess is really quite bad at the moment so I'm sorry but I'll post if I remember!?!
Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx
This IS a positive and supportive group. We are all here to help one another through the pain journey. Sezzy basically said it all ⤴️⤴️ So, look at some of the threads using key words like positive and laughter and you'll find many. Hope you get a giggle or two. Oh, and ppl judge through ignorance and misguided thinking. They can't understand what they don't feel every day. It's not their fault and you need to give them the same leeway as you want for yourself. Wishing you well and welcome aboard. I hope you find the information and support you are looking for here.😊
Countrysidemom, welcome to our community family! I'm sorry you've been judged, as we all have outside this community. Here you will only find support and care, from others who know chronic pain and know what it's like to be judged by others who haven't got a clue. I'm not sure what you have wrong. But for many of us with and without fibromyalgia like to refer to two websites, to help others understand. I'm going to share the links, but if they don't post right I will add them separately.
And I'm sorry you are in pain. If you don't mind sharing some of what you're going through, I'm sure there are many here that can relate and share what they are doing to try and cope & get some relief. As Sezzy said, we also like to share good things that help us laugh, create positivity, or show our creative side, or share our furbabies.
I hope you will share with us. But if not, you can also search for specific topics (diagnoses and symptoms), like "back pain" or "headache" or "joint replacement" etc. Read through old posts and see the many suggestions others have used. Hugs love & prayers you can find ways to get relief. 🙂💕🙏🌸
Alwayz, Despite the cold blast (from 70's to the 50's), and a slight increase in all over pain I'm doing good, I won't complain. I hope you (& everyone) will have a good day today, and an even better weekend! Hugs love & prayers for all! 🙂💕🙏🌸
