I get what you're talking about... I have a little Ferret named Mischief that just turned a year old. They are very energetic little buggers by nature but when I am really agonizing, she will actually sit in my lap and lay on my shoulders and relax. Animals are really great therapy. I'm sorry that you're in such pain that you're in bed. I don't blame you for not wanting to have another surgery. I have had 4 surgeries on my spine and it;s not a fun trip to say the least. Feel better. I will keep you in my prayers.
Fatcat, We just got a new dog, after losing our last a year ago. I didn't realize how much I missed one, and the antics our pets display. I'd love to have a cat too but I became allergic to them 22 years ago. I've had 2 neck surgeries, and as multiple doctors have put it, "you need surgery now, but due to multiple risk factors we won't do it. It will have to be an emergency, and we can only hope your discs collapse completely lined up without nerve damage." I think I'd rather take the risk fixing it now than wait and hope only to have emergency situation later. I'll be praying for you. 🙏🌼
I can understand that. I get migraines from looking down too long or up at the ceiling. I have sciatic pain on & off, depending on my movements or positions. I can't stay in one position too long. I have the tingling and semi-numbness & stinging I'm my feet and hands too. I believe its all connected to my neck but the neurologist says he thinks its MS or something like it. They've sent a referral request to Mayo clinic in FL, so now I wait.
Same here..was going to ask the doctor for further testings..After my surgery's... I went back to work..I feel that I did the wrong thing...repetitive motion and lifting made.....me go back to where I was...
Fat Cat I know it has always amazed me at how animals react to any types of illnesses. I have a Service Dog when I am having a bad day hurting she wants to be up in bed with me as close as she can get. We also have 2 Chihuahuas,a dorkie,a mini shaunzer,a shi tuz and last but no least a 1/2rodeason1/2 black and tan hound dog.the 2 Chihuahuas and the shi tuz want to be as close as possible which means on top of me. They don't realize they are hurting more than helping me.
Thanks Fat Cat I had an anteriordiskectomy on 5,6,7. It really helped at first but that was in 2005, and my surgeon told me that I needed to have a couple that didn't show on the MRI until he got in there. He didn't order enough from the bone bank to do them. He said eventually have to have another surgery. I think it's getting close to needing it.
I went to see a Surgeon 2 Months ago..he was ready to help me. His wording on what he was going to do..was way over my head. Medical terms..I said..umm..no thanks..did not feel comfortable with him. I will look for a doctor back in Pittsburgh..ok..now here go my feet..omg..God Bless us all..
