Tired of sleeping meds ( well meds in general )

Jun 11, 2017 8:49 PM

It's been a rough few weeks which I hope means things r getting better. I've been trying to buck the system this last week as as far as my meds go. I've been trying to fall asleep without using my knock out pills. Needless to say I've been left disappointed. Havibg to reach for them late in the night anyway.
I really feel out of shorts and needy lately. I really need some assurance.

So sorry Newfibrogirl2 :( . Not being able to sleep really sucks. Is it pain keeping you up or just fibro-insomnia?

Have you tried an Epsom foot soak or bath soak for pain?

Fibro does have a terrible effect on sleep. Sometimes a person just needs a little help.

BTW Did you look into the Guaifenesin protocol I mentioned earlier in another thread.

I just started using an aromatherapy diffuser and an infrared heating pad that is half the length of my body. I prop my knees up with pillows and bought memory foam gel pillows of various sizes and prop them where I need them. I am finally sleeping more than 2-3 hours a night.

I've tried all kinds of pills to sleep. I just started to ise doxepin and it is working decent.

I use a wedge under my knee which helps with my back. I was just put on restoril which works ok but I have a wicked headache in the morning.
Is the heating pad electric? And does it go directly on yhe body or do I use blankets in between?

My heating pad is electric and goes directly under the body. It is designed to get deep into the muscle. It was a bit pricey but I was fortunate enough to get it as a gift. It was purchased at Hammacher Schlemmer. I love it and use it every single night!

Have you or anyone tried chlorophyll (not chloroform!) as detox?

If your system is used to sleep aid meds it may take some time for your system to sort out. Have you tried regular use of melatonin?

I'm sure it's gonna be a difficult like everything else.
