Tired of all my non-epileptic seizures. Migralepsy I've been told. How can migraines cause brain lesions? And how can you have migraines with aura without a migraine? Tired of the shock pain and this neuro limbo I'm in. Next appointment on the 19th. Wish me luck!
Buggin, I'm sorry that you are dealing with these issues and are at the end of you rope. I suffer from many things such as Fibromyalgia, DDD/DJD, Thoracic Spondalytic Myelopathy, Migraines, etc..) I've had migraines here my vision looks like I'm going through a tunnel of colorful lights in my peripheral vision, also have lost 1/3 of my vision in my left eye (both With no pain in my head), I've had them where I saw some light and within moments the pain is excruciating. I will pray that when you go back to the doctor, they find a way to help you.
I was told years ago by a neurologist that the migraines cause brain lesions as each episode is like a tiny stroke so every migraine causes a small part of the brain to shut down causing the lesion. unfortunately that tiny part never recovers. I know this doesn't ease the pain but knowing others go through this can help x peace luv n happiness x
MissD, I find that interesting. I use to get migraines on the left forehead & temple areas. About a year ago I started having them between my neck and the right front forehead only. In October they did an MRI that showed changes to the right frontal lobe of my brain. The report suggested ischemic changes, and the doctor blew it off as scar tissue (normal age related). I'm not yet 54. I've had quite a bit of cognitive function changes where they diagnosed pseudodementia. Wonder if what you described is the cause, since I have migraines? I see my neurologist soon so I'm going to ask him.
I too find this interesting I have never heard of migraines causing leasing to the brain.i know they can cause someone to have a stroke. My sister had one caused by a migraine she was in her early 30's. I have an appointment on the 18th I have so many things I need to talk to him about. Nero. I think I may have CIS I have be reading a bit it and it's fits my symptoms that I have been having.
its always worth asking. I remember him saying that once the damage is caused each following migraine causes the same thing to happen meaning each migraine episode gets worse. but plz double check as fibro fog makes it a little difficult for me to remember exactly the details! :s ♥plh♥
Migraines are horrible!!! When your head hurts that badly, the rest of you is totally messed up. I have to go for my head CT to rule out or confirm if I have some kind of tumor causing the major problems with my ear and hearing Los... I'm actually scared and the anxiety is giving me that upper belly pain and tightness in my chest. Thursday morning I have to go to the ENT Doctor for another test he wants to run. Just want it to be over and done with. My nerves can't take much more!! 😢
Improving from last flare. But I hope my hearing was bad because I think the weather people said this morning, "enjoy this warm weekend because we've got a nasty cold front coming in about a week." Ugh! On my way to find out results of lung test last week.
Thanks everyone for your comments and help. My 19th appointment was horrible. I was lied to and my insurance company. I maintained my composure and prayed for doctor. Seem they need it more than I do. My psychiatrist took me off Klonopin for anxiety. Now I am waiting for another appointment with my last neuro to see if he can start me on another type of seizure med or Klonopin back (it's also for siezures) so far not muched has changed after 3 and a half weeks of meds except my soreness in morning is better .The imitrex knocks me out for 1 to 2 hours then I cannot go to sleep at night. I still have spells everytime I overheat. Gotta get hormones checked now. My body temp regulator is off. Thanks again and God bless you all. You all make a difference
Buggin, I'm sorry things didn't go as well as hoped for. But I'm keeping you in my prayers. Its such a hard battle to fight when as you get one thing figured out another malfunctions or crops up. Stay strong knowing we're here for you. God bless you too! 🙏🌼
Buggin' you mentioned something about your temperature regulator not working. I had the same situation and it turned out to be my thyroid. I hope there is resolution to your situation. Sending you healing and positive vibes.
Thank you all! I'm getting my hormones checked soon. I've been told that I may be going through perimenopause. Off of nortriptyline. Sent to the hospital with a severe allergic reaction. Not taking Imitrex except if I get a migraine like headache. Hospital gave me Ativan which stopped my seizures and dizziness and lowered my blood pressure down. Waiting to see neurologist next month for reevaluation. Wish me luck. God bless
