To go to work or not?

Dec 01, 2016 9:08 AM

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good day.
I'm not. Yesterday at work I came into contact with mould in the locker room. So i moved all my stuff out of my locker so it wouldn't get contaminated. That time in the mould contaminated area triggered both allergies and chemical sensitivities. The best part, no one believes me about the mould because I'm the only one who can smell it.
Anyways. I took an allergy pill last night in the hopes that i could breathe and maybe get some sleep.... nope. My nose did clear up a bit but ran like a facut all night. I needed to be propped up almost sitting so it wouldn't plug up again, I sleep on my side not my back so that agitated my hips and anytime I'd start to doze my hips would tell me it was time to change position.
My throat started hurting last night, only on the right side so i don't know if that's allergies, chemical sensitivities, getting sick, or muscle related. I puked up the little bit of water in my system this morning, but again i don't know if that's lack of sleep related or getting sick.
It's 8 am. I've been up since 6am yesterday morning. The boyfriend seems to think i should go into work this afternoon, my shift starts at 3pm. He said i should get some sleep during the day and 'go make money'. I feel that maybe i should stay home today and see if i can't recover a bit so that i can get through tomorrow's 12 hour shift and software load on the main air traffic control system. But at the same time i feel guilty because i should be able to go to work, i do feel it's probably just allergies, chemistry sensitivities and lack of sleep making me violently ill this morning and not a normal person sickness.
I'm sitting on the couch with some instant miso soup hoping that i can keep that down and maybe actually eat something.
Oh and I'm still trying to recover from vehicle exhaust kicking my ass 2 days ago on the way home because all the fog kept everything low instead of letting it dissipate and it was all i had to not puke in my car.
What a fun life.
Can i trade my body in for a shiny, new, better functioning one now?
This headache is probably going to hit migraine level today too. Yay 😱

I'd stay home and rest if there's someone can do your responsibilities. You need to get over the allergies and get a good night's sleep.

Sorry to hear everything is happening all at once. I would say stay home and get better properly, no point going in to work if you can't actually work. Hope you feel better soon

Thanks guys.
I called in sick and the supervisor was surprised to hear from me so early in the day.
I watched a couple cartoons and slowly ate, then I ran a bath.
I only filed the tub half way, which was good because i had to warm the water back up 4 times and i was only in there for 40 minutes. You know you are doing bad when you suck all the heat out of a hot bath in less than 5 minutes.
Now I'm in bed with the heating pad on my hips. They are still just screaming. Days like today I wish i had more than advil and robaxin and some low dose herbal supplements.
Hopefully i sleep some.

And it's morphed into a head cold

Dec 01, 2016 4:04 PM

Noooo!!! Cripes you need a break!! Sending you a hot herbal tea with some ginger in it.
Hoping your hip pain has calmed.
Take care of yourself.
Wish I was closer cuz I'd smell the mould to confirm... Luckily I'm not that sensitive as you ..😥

I think the exhaust set you up for a worst reaction... Immune on high alert ... Hoping the cold doesn't settle in.🍵🍵🍵💐💐

Oh no, I hope you're able to get a decent sleep so that you have a better chance at fighting it off so it won't stay around.
Try a glass of hot water with a couple of wedges of lemon a teaspoon of honey and I like to add a couple of cloves and a couple of slices of fresh ginger, I drink a couple of glasses a day when I feel a cold coming on and it seems to help me.
Hopping you feel better soon xx

So I'm the sickest I've been in years. I'm hoping with how fast and hard it came on that I'll get over it quickly. Still haven't slept at all.
Does anyone else get little bruises around their eyes when they vomit real hard?

Dec 01, 2016 11:54 PM

When I vomit I get red blotches all over my cheeks, I don't notice little bruises but then I normally have dark circles because of how tired I am constantly!!!

Sending you { { { BIG GENTLE HEALING LOVING HUGS } } } and I'm standing next to you so you can lean on me for extra strength and comfort xx

I'm so sorry you are so sick. I'm sorry you haven't slept. Hope you have by now. Take care of yourself.

I hope you're feeling a bit better today and that you've had some sleep. Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids and doing steam inhalation to help clear your head. If you can hot water with a couple of lemon wedges, a spoon of honey and a couple of cloves and if you can some ginger should help if you can drink a couple of cups a day or a hot toddie if you want the traditional drink....my dad's recipe is a shot of Irish whiskey (he's born and bred Irish man from Co. Cork, Ireland!) with shot of hot water in a glass with honey and cloves.

Thanks guys. You are the best.
I slept a couple hours last night.
Still feeling like death but a little better this morning than last night. Hopefully it continues improving but I'm sure it'll get worse as the day goes on again.
It's sad but because i can't breathe through my nose I've had to have my jaw open and that's caused the right side of my face to flare up. Fun times

Gotobef, I hope the bath helped and the heating pads take some of the pain away.
It always sucks to get sick on top of everything else because you already feel like shit!! Sending you warm, healing {{{Hugs}}}, positive vibes and well wishes 💕😊
