To whoever is stinking a needle in my belly

Mar 16, 2015 6:18 AM

Okay. Going to the doc this morning for a follow up appointment for a stupid ovarian cyst. It feels like somebody has stuck a needle in my belly and is twirling it around. I've had enough already. Can't take any pain meds this morning either. This truly sucks.

I'm sorry Amanda. I hope the doctor finds the problem and is able to sort it out for you. I'll say a prayer for you. You're in my thoughts. 🌻🙏🌺

Alwayz, it appears the hospital might have been mistaken in terms of ovarian cyst cause it's not there. No evidence. My doc seems to think the pain is coming from my large intestine(lovely). Referral to a GI specialist which doesn't make me happy because I know what that's going to involve at this point. It just seems to be a very long drawn out process at this point. Still waiting.

Amanda I had a Colonoscopy about 3 months ago, belive me it's not to bad. The worst thing is having to drink that gallon of liquid and if you are like me have problems with constipation have to drink magnesium citrate upon waking morning before test, then start drinking the gallon jug at 2pm until 7pm. Then the fun begins all night.

Accidentally hit wrong button, my Gastrointernologist gave me something to help me relax and then to sleep thru it. It seems like you haven't even had it done when they wake up up.

Wheezie, I had one in July as well. Ugghhhh, I felt like i got run over by a damn truck.

I know Amanda it leaves you feeling like a limp noodle. I know all I wanted to do was come home and sleep. Hope they figure out what's going on with you.

The colonoscopy isn't bad. The prep is a nightmare!

Mar 17, 2015 7:26 AM

FlappysLady, yes I'm aware. I almost didn't make it through the prep. Got through the first bottle of Mag Citrate fine. By the second bottle, I was dry heaving to the point of throwing up.

Mar 17, 2015 7:35 AM

Amanda, they use to do the prep in a 12 hour period, after being on a all liquid diet for 48 hours. That wasn't so bad. Now they do the prep a full 24 hours and you get very little sleep. I prefer the liquid diet form but very few doctors do that anymore. On one prep, before I was having a surgery for abdominal mass, it made me really sick. They didn't know the mass & adhesions had entangled all my internal organs, and I had a twisted bowel. Ever since then I dread them. But I've had 2 and did fine both times.

The procedure isnt bad at all. They use propofol to put me to sleep because i have sedation issues. I wake up and within 30 minutes i feel fine without fogginess or sleepiness. Maybe your doctors can use that. Praying for you to get through it with nothing bad.
🙏🌼

Every Dr has their protocols mine had me on all liquid diet and since I have constipation issues he had me first thing after waking up to drink the mag citrate it's better to drink it cold. Then clear liquids @ 2pm I had to start drinking the gallon jug it had a lemon lime packet to add to dry ingredients then add water start drinking that as well as the clear liquids until 10 pm. Then I was up all nite going to bathroom yaks it was brutal. Then you have to make sure that you are passing clear water or you have to take a fleets enema. It is a nightmare for sure. The test is nothing compared to getting prepped for it. What makes it worse is if you know the Dr from your job.

The last one was done liquid diet for 24 hours, 1 12 oz bottle of mag citrate at 12 p and 6 p and then nothing after 10 pm. I was famished by the time everything was said and done the next morning. I believe they also used propofol for mine as well.
