Today has sucked ass!!!!

Oct 16, 2015 7:21 PM

Fought myself on getting out of bed this morning. Slept pretty decent but the pain has been quite bad for me. Have taken ES Tylenol every 6 hours without any relief. Pelvis feels like it's on fire already, but I'm not allowed any NSAIDs at this point at all. Have tried a really hot bath but that was only effective while I was in the tub. I can't go to the ER at this point, because there is really nothing they can do. I am pretty much intolerant of narcotics(Percocet, morphine, etc). Can take Vicodin but it doesn't last very long and just makes me sleepy. I believe I just need to curl up in my bed and try to sleep the worst of it off if possible. I really don't have time for this right now. Good night all, and hoping for a less pain day tomorrow.

Oct 16, 2015 8:25 PM

Amanda,
Sorry your day was so awful. I don't really have experience with narcotics, but have you tried Low Dose Naltrexone? It can reverse tolerance to opiates, and help your body make its own painkillers.
Other things (you might have tried them a million times, sorry I can't remember)
Magnolia root
Kava kava
Kratom (definite spaciness, but less than w/o painkillers)

Oct 16, 2015 8:30 PM

Ferret,
Thanks for the help, but unfortunately with it being so close to surgery, they won't let me try either magnolia or the kava-kava. Kratom is definetly out either. When I said intolerant, the word was supposed to be sensitive, meaning I am either allergic or very close to being that way. Being spacec out doesn't help matters either.

Oct 16, 2015 8:43 PM

That's tough. Sorry. I'd definitely try LDN sometime after the surgery, on the off chance it blocks painkillers.

Oct 16, 2015 8:56 PM

Oh Amanda, big gentle 🐻 hugs! I wish I knew of something you could do to ease the pain, at least for you to sleep. 🙏🌼

Oct 16, 2015 9:34 PM

I'm sorry for venting tonight guys. I'm almost at wits end with it. I need something stronger. It's not working anymore. Hopefully by Monday afternoon, will have some idea on how to cope already. Flappys, Benadryl on tap right now.

Oct 17, 2015 2:34 AM

Amanda, are you allowed any type of muscle relaxant? Maybe you could sleep it off, or at least get some relief that way? Possibly Zanaflex or Flexeril?

Oct 17, 2015 2:36 AM

Serena, no no muscle relaxants on board. Benadryl helped tremendously tonight. Thank you.

Oct 17, 2015 2:37 AM

Can I ask what surgery you're about to have?

Oct 17, 2015 6:13 AM

Amanda, I am so sorry that you have been suffering so. I wish that there was something I could do to make it better. I'm so sorry I wasn't here when you posted. I've been down and out with a migraine that took away 1/2 the vision in my left eye, my back was out and on top of all that I was in a total flare of BOTH fibromyalgia and RSD. Both my eyes are infected, one with ingrown eyelashes and the other just irritated and oozing. I have sores in my mouth and just have not had the energy to check in and I feel really guilty because I'm trying to catch up on posts and there are so many of you that needed hugs and just to know you're loved and prayed for. I'm sending you gentle {{{{Hugs}}}} and know that no matter how I'm feeling, I'll make sure I'm here from now on!💕🙏🏻🌻

Oct 17, 2015 6:25 AM

Oct 17, 2015 6:52 AM

Any time Eddieray!!! I'm glad you have a great support system around you and that that little one keeps you on your toes!{{{Hugs}}}

Oct 17, 2015 6:54 AM

Serena, diagnostic laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis.

Oct 17, 2015 8:13 AM

And I refuse to give into it right now. I won't do that!! Just have to listen to my body and take small, frequent breaks as I need them.

Oct 17, 2015 9:40 AM

And I think I might have discovered the reason I'm hurting so badly. I'm having symptoms of my cycle getting ready to start, already on Provera, still hurting a bit, but no period. This is really weird, but if it keeps happening, I think I might need to get in touch with the gyn on Monday morning. But again, there's not a whole lot he can do except to just wait and see at this point.

Oct 17, 2015 7:03 PM

Amanda, can you take Tylenol? If you can, take it with the Benadryl tonight (same as Tylenol pm). It helps me sleep on some of my worst nights. Hugs & a prayer the time will pass quickly for your surgery. 🙏🌼

Oct 17, 2015 8:11 PM

Flappys, yes I can take Tylenol. Might have to go and give that a try. Surprisingly, right now, it's just pressure but not pain. Can't make heads or tails of it but going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Oct 18, 2015 12:10 AM

Amanda, I've had 2 of those! The second one they finally found the endometriosis b

Oct 18, 2015 12:15 AM

I know what its like being in a lot of pain and not being able to go to the er :/

Oct 18, 2015 12:16 AM

Because none of the meds work ^^

Accidently clicked rpely before finishing haha

Oct 18, 2015 12:22 AM

Sorry about that...they found the endometriosis but still made me go through the Depo shots first. When they finally got in there and did a hysterectomy it was so bad they were in there over 4 hours. I had an open, which I recommend btw, as they still haven't really mastered the vaginal hysterectomy yet and tend to nick the bowel. Anyway, they had to scrape my bladder, do an appendectomy, and I already needed a hernia repair. Point is, if you're having this much pain and you're done having kids, push the hysterectomy. Endometriosis doesn't show up on any scans and just from my exploratory, when they told me it was "minor amounts of endometriosis" until I actually had my hysterectomy, when there was massive amounts, was about a year. I felt like my uterus was trying to crawl out of me and get away! I would have to put towels on my chair at work because of either urine or blood leakage. It was really bad at the end!

Oct 18, 2015 12:32 AM

Serena, that's exactly how I'm feeling right now. Not with the towels but it feels like something is trying to crawl away. I have already done the Depo shots once before and will NOT do them again. Will also NOT do Lupron or Mirena. I don't know if he is planning on doing an appy now or what. I'm just really ready for surgery at this point.

Oct 18, 2015 12:33 AM

How old are you? I was 35 when I had mine.

Oct 18, 2015 12:39 AM

I'm 35 now. No children, never married. Nor do I want children.

Oct 18, 2015 12:45 AM

Serena, it's also worse by the fact that I'm not sleeping through the night still. Still finding myself awake with pain at 2 or 3 in the morning. Didn't take a Benadryl because I have to get up so early this morning, yet here I am, awake.

Oct 18, 2015 12:52 AM

I'm up a lot too. Even when I do sleep I have a sleep disorder where I don't hit REM so the few hours I occasionally get aren't restful. But, back when I had a uterus, I remember trying to get to the bathroom several times a night and either wetting myself or the bed... waking up with cramps. It used to hurt to pee, and sometimes to poop. Even now sometimes it still does. I did get permanent bladder issue from the surgery through. They were worried they were going to have to bring in a Urinary specialist. They scraped my bladder wall very thin and I think that's why I still have pain and sometimes can't hold it. I only leak a little so I'm sure there's some sort of exercises I could do.

Oct 18, 2015 1:37 AM

Amanda I am so sorry that you are hurting so badly. Do you think using a heated rice pack may help some? I know that you are ready to get it over with, be sure when you sign your consent forms to tell them if they find something to go ahead with the historectomy. I had to suffer thru 3 yrs of different procedures before my GYN would do my historectomy. They found on my overies two types of cyst, I had Chronic Cervicitus, endometriosis that's why I hurt all the time and my peiods where horrible. Eddie Ray it was great hearing from you, I'm glad you have such a wonderful support group with the little girl added to the mix I know she keeps you on your toes. I'm finding out what a joy these little ones are. Will obe praying for everyone and sending great big hugs to very one here.

Oct 18, 2015 6:16 AM

Weezie, I'm thinking the heating pad when I get home from church this afternoon.

Oct 18, 2015 6:42 AM

Serena- kegels really help (google it) after I had my daughter tad bit of that and fixed that in weeks plus betters O's lol. Win/ win. Don't be intimidated & evn a few seconds several times a day can do anywhere no one will know and helps a lot.
Have Ehlers Danlos syndrome as main pain issue but also polycystic ovarian syndrome. I gets cysts more and more rarely, in my mid 30's, but when I did it was excruciating and sometimes days of pressure, pain, hell and I was misdiagnosed and ignored quite a bit. Internal bleeding after rupture usual reason for ongoing pain, short term stuff was usually increasing pressure then cramps pain then intense then very sore touchy painful that subsided...
For me for Gyno pain, Hot water bottles helped as did heating pad esp super deep heat Thermaphore heating pads. They're spendy but worth it if you have chronic pain issues.

Oct 18, 2015 6:43 AM

And Weezie, I'm hoping that this one is a DaVinci surgery rather then traditional lap. Apparently, DaVinci hurts less then traditional and I've had a traditional lap before. So not fun with that one.

Oct 18, 2015 7:07 AM

Amanda- I do hope they find the reason and it's something structural that can be helped. I meant to address you for 2nd part of my post, some of what you described sounded like the cysts I had, and I was told that wouldn't hurt so long etc., & must be endo but wasn't. The weight of the water bottle plus the warmth usually helps though when that was first suggested to me sounded bad, tried anyway and usually felt soothing. Though really depends on what's going on that day. I hope all goes well and you heal completely, no more pain!

Oct 18, 2015 12:32 PM

Cami, thanks for that but the only time I have had an ovarian cyst was February of this year. All other scans have been clear, which leads us to the tentative diagnosis of endo, makes sense as well, because there is a verified family history of it as well.

Oct 19, 2015 9:17 PM

Omg, Serenasills, they did a vaginally on me and knocked the lining of my bowel! Wow, I didn't know that back then. 🙏🌼

Oct 19, 2015 10:00 PM

Amanda I hope you have a goodnight with as little pain as possible. Praying for and sending hugs.

Oct 20, 2015 2:54 AM

Amanda, I hope you get some much needed rest and wake to a better day tomorrow. (Actually, it IS tomorrow as I have not been to bed yet and it's HOLY SHIT... Almost 4am!!) I'm tired of being tired. At any rate, I hope and pray the rest of my peeps are getting some rest and that you wake to a more peaceful and less painful Tuesday. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers to you all. 💕🙏🏻🌻

Oct 20, 2015 3:39 AM

My hope for you as well dear heart, sleep well

Oct 20, 2015 5:08 PM

Alwayz, thanks for the encouragement but it definetly was not a better day. Hoping I can at least get a little bit of relief tomorrow morning. I'm thinking I'm going to ask her tomorrow about possibly getting a second set of facet joint blocks. The first set has definetly worn off completely now, but with the upcoming surgery, those will be put on hold until I can at least lay on my tummy.
