Too much stomach acid

May 08, 2017 6:12 AM

I went to the doctor because I was having really bad pain(I even Googled" where is labor pain located" lol) in my stomach just under my ribs. They said it was just too much stomach acid. I got some medication, a week after the pain went away, but a week ago the pain came back. It's like pain attacks that last from 5-60 minutes, and then goes away and comes back later on the day. . I've reached out to my doctor, but he just says it's normal, but this doesn't feel normal :(. I'm very familiar to stomach problems since I have IBS, but I have never had such an intense pain like this before.. I sadly don't know the English word for the pills I'm taking, but in danish it's called " lansoprazol krka" they are for stomach ulcers..

The pain sounds like your gallbladder. You can have "attacks" that last hours to days. It usually happens when you eat something in the fatty side or you take NSAIDS.

I was thinking the same, cavwife, but my doctor dismissed it when I brought it up :(

Have they attempted to rule anything out with testing?

May 08, 2017 6:47 AM

Also I don't eat fatty, not after I started on the pills:/ because I knew that would fuck up thethe stomach acid even more

Nope, he just said " yup sounds just like too much stomach acid, so here's some medication"

You may want to try another Dr if your insurance allows it or if you have another attack you can go to the ER. They will have to do the testing. Just remember to bring all your meds with you

Yeah, I sent a message to another doctor about my pains, and the pain attacks! My clinic has 3 different doctors, so I hope at lease one of them will listen lol

Only problem with going to the same clinic is that it's like one Dr doesn't want to do anything to upset any of the others so, they will agree with their diagnosis. I would ask for your gallbladder to be medically ruled out with testing and not a guess. Be a little firm in your request. Because I have a huge gallstone and they wanted to do surgery. I refuse to have yet another surgery. So I am just taking the medicine (probably what you are taking) and watching what I eat. It's nice knowing what is wrong with me though! At least I have an informed decision that I have made.

One of the doctors (the only woman there ) always listens and takes all the tests one wants, it's just rare that there's a free spot at her :(. But I contacted her !!!!

May 08, 2017 7:03 AM

Good! If you don't get a response from your message, I would call until you get in to see her

May 08, 2017 7:05 AM

Yeah I will, thank you! Glad I'm not the only one thinking it could be my gallbladder

May 08, 2017 7:06 AM

No problem! If it helps ease your mind any further, I'm also in the Medical field 😇

May 08, 2017 7:11 AM

Oooh :D! Makes it much better !

Hey again! I went to another doctor today and she said it probably was my gallbladder. She said I need to get scanned, but the waiting list is fucking 4 weeks lol... rip me and my stomach. . She said I should keep taking the pills I'm already on, eventho they give me an extreme headache... oh well... :/
