Torso Pain how do you deal with it?

Dec 16, 2014 8:38 PM

Hi all,
I'm new to this app. But am really suffering with very painful torso pain, apart from heat, but can't stand a hot water bottle even half full accross me, on my max pain meds. So any ideas would be very welcome.
Thank you for reading my first post and hope you are all not suffering too much and can sleep!!!

Heat in centre of pain. If that doesn't work take an oxycodon

Hi,

Hope your not in too much pain.

Oxycodon is a dru, normally a tablet. It is a strong opiate much like morphine but twice as strong

Chiropractor helps me - torso pain can be referred from ribs or pelvic imbalance

Instead of a hot water bottle, try taking a towel, wet it, ring it out and put it in the microwave. There will be no weight on your torso then and you can benefit from the heat. Just put the towel in a plastic bag when you get it out of the microwave so you don't get damp.

These are some good ideas. What I do is use am electric hearing pad. Here in the states they are widely inn pharmacies. They are light & I weight mine down with what is basically a jumbo bean bag I made (terry cloth hand towel, sewn on 3 sides, cheap, white rice added, then the open side stitched closed - you can actually heat them in the microwave & it works as a heating pad too). You can add weight on top of the electric pad or not, your choice. I also lay down, breathe slowly & deply & I pray. Itty helps. If you don't have a strong pain reliever (prescribed by the dr) you might want to get one or two. Lyrica has been helping diminish some of my pain. The pain still requires a narcotic/opiate for major relief but the Lyrica really helps. Talk to your doctor about it. I'll pray for you - this kind if pain its horrible.

Sorry about the errors in my post... Pain screws with the brain.
