Trying Lavender

Mar 23, 2016 7:43 PM

I've just sprayed some lavender on my pillow to try and see if I can sleep. Sometimes it gives me s bit of a headache but would like to try and see if I can sleep through the pain in my legs tonight. Hopefully the lavender will at least relax me some. x

Lavender gives me a TERRIBLE headache (and nausea). I have problems with any strong smells, to be honest (don't get me started on scented candles, perfumes, or even the laundry detergent aisle at the store EUUUGH). I try to stick with citrus oils as they can be relaxing or energizing (depending on the situation) but don't make me so sick!

I hope you get some good rest!

I like lavender but do be care with how much u use in relation to room size. It can become over whelming. But it does work to start the relaxation process

Flown I know what u mean Lacender gives me a headache sometimes but last night I sprayed a gentle must of it on the other pillow and not the one I put my head on and I felt I got a good sleep from it. Newfibrogirl I think that light mist I sprayed was just enough. xx

I like Lavender but I only use one or two drops on my pillow.

It looks so beautiful in the fields, but I just cannot abide the smell. I always think I will retch if I don't get away. The allergens are so awful this year and now scientists are telling us we can't take our meds or we'll lose our minds later! Ack

I am not sure about lavender on your pillow but a friend once swore she slept better and faster by putting a couple of drops of lavender oil on her feet at night.

I absolutely LOVE lavender. I buy the oil from The Vitamine Shoppe and it's like $25 an ounce. What I do is when I get out of the shower, I put two or three drops in the palm of my hand and run it all through the back of my hair (which is almost down to my waist). After I run my fingers through, then I take my palms and run them under and over the back and brush it through. Then I just let it air dry. (Generally I wear it in a braid so it stays a bit damp). The next day when I take the braid out not only is my hair shiny, it's refreshingly smells like Lavender. It is so relaxing to me and I love it. I don't use it so much in the summer because of the flies and other bugs. But I use it all winter. {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Alwayzinpain does it not make ur hair greasy bring an oil?? xx

No it does not make my hair oily or greasy. What I do is while my hair is soaking wet, I brush it and then I put 1 to 3 drops in my palm and then rub my hands together. Then I run my fingers through the back of my hair and then I take my palms and put one under and one over and then rub my hair from the top to bottom. After that, I brush it again. When my hair dries, there is no oiliness or greasy feeling. Now keep one thing in mind.. My hair is very long in the back (almost to my waist). However, if you use less than I do based on your hair length, it will be just fine. I hope that you find the scent as wonderfully calming as I do. Each time I brush my hair when it's dry, it refreshes the scent and it's lovely. Enjoy it!! {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻😊
