Trying 2 months

Jan 18, 2019 5:11 AM

I haven’t been on much, it’s been a very trying couple of months. First lots of you know what trials I have been through with my daughter with a variety of things going on with her..emotionally and physically, then 3 days before Christmas my dad has a fall in the bathroom because he felt dizzy, he was rushed to the hospital with 2 broken ribs that caused internal bleeding and his spleen damage and ended up undergoing 6 different surgeries, put on a ventilator to breath for him. Doctors didn’t think he would make it, My ex’s father paid for a round trip plane ticket so I could get to see my Dad. I flew in on the second, was here only a week and got a nasty upper respiratory infection and pinkeye and wouldn’t get to see dad for a week, he has since contracted a rare infection and got put in isolation and the antibiotics they gave him for it gave him thrush, but through it all he still fought and he is awake and can finally recognize who everyone is! That was the best news! He will have to be moved to a Critical Care Hospital and when they get the treachea out they will start his rehab to help him learn to walk again, they don’t expect him to come home again until mid to end of March, I will be going back home on the 25th, my kids are giving Thier father a hard time and they are getting anxious to see Mom, my daughter has missed 3days of school this week because of panic attacks and migraines, son has strep throat now as well and I need my bed. My parents still live in a hotel but at least it’s a roof over thier head, I gotta say this, Cherish your loved ones while you can.. only the Lord knows how much time we have with them. Be Blessed everyone and have a positive New Yearthis year!

Thank You AnimalLover, just left the hospital for a visit and he is on rare form , it’s very good to see the Dad I’ve always known.. and that’s his mischievous side and picking on each other and laughing so hard your sides hurt 😂, going back up later tonight, he is tired from occupational therapy so we left so he can rest. I’m very blessed and thankful.

Today dad had to go into emergency surgery at 4 am, that makes surgery #7 and he will still need to have to go through another surgery after that, I have to go back home in 4 days and I thought I would be able to go home with less worries but that won’t be the case, when he came out of surgery today it was evident that the icu deleriam had come back, still praying and trying to stay positive, my music helps keep my anxiety at. Minimum. Stay positive and love on your family today ♥️

Moparmom, my heart goes out to you because of what I've gone through with my Dad who passed away last May, and my stepmom who is a shell of herself following her hip break with dementia. You are all in my prayers! And I'm especially praying for your Dad through these surgeries! Love hugs & prayers for all your family! 🙂❤🙏🌼

Dad had another set back today, his kidneys shut down and now he is on dialysis for what I was told for 4 days straight, then hours after that call about his kidneys we get another call, dad is bleeding internally and they can’t find out from where, so that was surgery #8 and still has to have surgery to stich up the open wound they kept open. I really don’t know how much more I can take. I’ll be going back home on 3 days, kids need Mom, my daughters celiac disease is acting up and I need to take care of that, it sucks needing to be in 2 places at the same time when they are hundreds of miles apart. I’ll keep informed as best I can, love your family today ♥️

Update: Got a call from my Mom, Dad is getting and worse as the days pass, he is back to not knowing who everyone is to now not responding to Mom or anyone, his kidneys have gone back to not functioning so talk about constant dialysis is back but this time not temporary, they are at the point as well as not being able to take my dad off the ventilator, because if they try pneumonia builds up in his lungs, they did procedure #9 today so completely clean out his lungs and trachea and are getting a culture to see if the new infection is coming from thier or not. The surgeon who did the procedure today talked with the rounding doctor who has been on my Dad’s team since the beginning are now telling my mom that he would be best suited for a nursing home, my mom has not figured it out yet but it will be a miracle now if my dad ever recovers and the moment he is put in a nursing home in his condition he is good as gone, he will give up, my dad done said it years ago, the moment he is put in a nursing home he will give up. Love ❤️ your family and cherish your time with them.
