Trying out a journal. This one came with friends!

Hi there folks.
I've had chronic pain most of my life but it recently has been ramping up and I want to try to figure out why. I currently can't sleep from pain so why not start a journal?

I'm almost 30. I have Celiac disease, prior cancer (15 years remission), bad car accident at 10 that damaged my spine to initiate the chronic back pain, and probably more I'm forgetting.

I'm in a constant high stress environment as I work in a hospital. I'm also in school full time. I'm getting married next year. :)

Currently, I'm worried over a possible cancer scare. No confirmations yet and doctor appointment isn't for another week. :/ This stress has increased my pain to a nearly intolerable level.

Aleve is all I usually take. The pain is never 0.

Welcome to the community RabbitANDme! I'm sorry to hear you have ever had cancer, and having a current concern. My dad, 85 has had cancer 6 times in his body, all since he was 50. I understand the stress you are under. It's difficult enough to deal with, without having the added burden of other chronic issues. Trying to stay calm takes practice. Removing yourself from stress, deep breathing, listening to relaxing music, massages, are some ways I try to relax.

I have disc issues all down my spine, both from damage and OA, and now Sjogrens. I also have fibromyalgia, pelvic congestion syndrome, pelvic floor dysfunction, migraines, and multiple others issues. I can't take a lot of pain meds so I use Tylenol Arthritis daily, rotating with Aleve. I also have muscle relaxers, and recently started gabapentin for neuropathies. I'm on an antidepressant and anxiety meds. I'm under a team of docs; rheumatologist, endocrinologist, PCP, pain specialist, Ortho, gastroenterologist, & psychologist. A good team of docs is key for me.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I will be praying for you, and hopefully the cancer scare is not going to be added to your issues. (((Hugs))) & prayers! 🙂🙏🌼
