Has anyone gone through the process of trying to conceive or being pregnant while living with chronic pain?
I have two children, 4 and 2. My husband and I have discussed having more children. My Dr HSS told me I could still treat my migraines and small fiber neuropathy while pregnant and breastfeeding. I don't know if I'm being too ambitious. My pain had been very manageable for the better part of 3 months now. For 4 months before that I was only dealing with the ulnar nerve pain. I feel like we may be at a good point. I'm nervous because, as you all know, with chronic pain it can all change quickly.
My doctor counseled that chronic pain can go either way as a result of the changing hormones during pregnancy. For some, they feel better. For others, they do much worse. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing beyond the past being a reasonable predictor of the future. Good luck to you.
