Undiagnosed upper abdominal pain anyone?

Dec 10, 2016 6:32 PM

Hey there,
I've been dealing with undiagnosed upper abdominal pain for nearly six months. All tests (endoscopy, MRI) have been normal and I've switched my diet drastically to avoid triggering foods. There seems to be no pattern in when I experience pain and it always goes to my back as well, bit never chest pain. Just wondering if anyone has been through or is in a similar situation?
Thanks πŸ˜€

Go back to your gastro doc. You may need more blood tests or special scans. I had that and the problem of the pain going around your back is not a great sign. If it "wraps around" it's gallbladder and if it goes through it could be pancreas. (I could have it backwards). At any rate, I was going through similar situations and ended up having to have surgery to have my gallbladder out. However, everyone is different so check with your doctors no matter who you have to see or how many times until they find answers. (Keep track of the symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, etc.... Sendibg well wishes your way along with positive vibes and good karma. {{{{Hugs}}}}πŸ’•πŸ˜Š

My gastroenterology doc basically gave up on me and told me to find someone else... I did but my appointment is in Feb... I'll definitely be trying to keep track of my symptoms until then! Not sure what else to do though because it's really interfering with my life and I need to graduate πŸŽ“Thanks for replying!

What foods is trigging you?

I have been through in the same way as Alwayzinpain.
I was at first at a public hospital(free) where they put me on 5 type of pain meds and shots while cramps. They told me that it is just mental pain and they sent me home. The same night I had to travel to a private hospital(1 hour flight and train to get there), because the surgeons wanted to remove my gallbladder the next morning. I had 40-50 gallstones and my gallbladder was leaking.. If this hospital didn't remove it, I would get really sick or die within 2-3 weeks.

Be careful and go to ER if you get worse!
I hope you get well soon <3
Hugs and best wishes for you <3

wrightsn, I would definitely keep your journal going but I would also ring up the doctor's office and ask them if there was any way to get you in sooner to see the doc rather than later. (If they tell you there are no openings ask them to put you on a cancellation list so that if someone can't make it in, they can give you their spot. Abdominal issues are nothing to play with. Wishing you the best!! {{{Hugs}}}πŸ’•πŸ˜Š
