Up and in pain

Dec 18, 2016 12:25 AM

It's hard tonight guys. Feels like I'm being bitten by ants and shocked. I'm beginning to swell and my eyes are burning a d teary. I've taken all my meds and nothing calming it. I'm healing up well from surgery and I've unfortunately going back to the stage of not sleeping and pain with any change in weather.
Just feeling a bit emotional and frustrated. I dont really know what I need this particular pain I've never had on its own. I just need and want to sleep.

Oh no newfibrogirl that's not good at all.
It sounds like an allergic reaction. How are you feeling now? Has it eased off? Would an allergy/hayfever tablet help relieve the swelling and burning eyes?

Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

It's is awful..I just took my lyrica it's a few hours early but I'm miserable.ive been taking Benadryl and it only eases it a bit for like two hours. Which was the same in the hospital it didn't last the normal 4 plus hours. For the swelling I have a cocktail my dr gave me for adema on an as needed basis. That has seemed to help . And the lyrica is starting to help the stinging a little.

Is the benadryl a once a day tablet? I've found for something like this the better allergy tablets are the Piriton tablets or syrup, Chlorphenamine Maleate is the active ingredient, these ones you take every 4 hours and the do make you drowsy but I've found that it works better from the first dose and normally works within a couple of doses

The Benadryl is also as needed or whenever I take my Percocet. I've been trying to avoid taking that simply because I've finally got the constipation under control. Are the other allergy tabs u mentioned OTC?

Yes I buy them in pharmacies over here, I don't know is Chlorphenamine is available in the USA or if it is called something different there.
Piriton is the brand name and Chlorphenamine is the generic name. I've found for me that is the only allergy that works for me

I take both lyrica (pregabalin) for the pain & neurontin (gabapentin) for itchy prickly skin sensations. I too react to my pain medication (Norco) with burning itching & swelling all over my body. The neurontin & benadryl have helped and I will try the chlorphenamin as an antihistamine as Benedryl has stopped working well. I think it's called Coricedin here. Does not look like I spelled that brand name right. It is OTC.
