Update on my cast / unique treatment for peripheral neuropathy

Aug 20, 2016 12:02 AM

The specialist had my cast taken off on Thursday. I now have a hinged arm brace that allows for 70 degrees of motion for my elbow. I have to wear it almost full time other than if I'm bathing. I can take a break if I'm doing very little like relaxing on the couch but absolutely cannot sleep without it. I see the specialist again in 3 weeks. He is pleased with the progress. He said the results are optimal and we may actually see a full recovery in my ulnar nerve which he never expected when he first saw me! While not all of my nerve issues come from my ulnar nerve as some are some fiber originating from elsewhere it may help the majority that were affecting my left hand. The aggressive treatment has certainly worked and I'm so glad I tried a "new age" treatment that doesn't have many studies behind it. It certainly worked for me. He told me (unofficially of course) there is another woman that he also tried a similar treatment plan with and she lasts a day and a half with her cast. She couldn't handle having it on. She has to have surgery. I don't. I'm so thrilled I stuck with it!!!

CDNgirl, that's really great! I'm very happy for you that it's helping. And it's good to know, just in case someone I know needs it; I can tell them a friend had good results. Hugs love and prayers the treatments continue to improve for you! 🙂💕🙏🌸
