Update with struggle to breathe

Jul 29, 2016 8:27 PM

Long story short it's gotten worse and more often over the last few months. I struggled on and off over the last few day. Today was all day not letting up. Hubby finally said he was taking me to the hospital. It turn out I have asthma, and I was having an asthma attack. So now I'm on 2 puffers to help me breathe, and grateful to have answers as to what was wrong. Not so happy about having asthma.

Thank you. I hesitated going for so long worried they'd blow it off as a panic attack and I knew it wasn't. So glad they could hear the struggle in my lungs. I'm also glad it's not heart related with having lupus and being on methotrexate.

Gibber, I'm glad you are ok and know what you're dealing with. I've had asthma since 2001; exercise induced & allergy enhanced. I had to give up my favorite perfume, White Shoulders, and all scented things. I spent a week in the hospital with a status asthmaticus attack, the first attack ever. I literally thought I wasn't going to make it, and neither did my family. You take it easy and slow getting back to your routine. Hugs love & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌸

Sorry to hear that Flappy that's scary. It's weird my oxygen levels where normal but I felt like I couldn't get enough air in my lungs. Doc said he could hear the wheeze and crackle in my lungs. I'm totally resting tonight. I'm worn out and my ribs hurt.

Thank you Lulabel. I am grateful to have answers and puffers..lol You're right about waiting but it was a good thing to be checked during an asthma attack or they probably wouldn't have found anything. Hope this finds you doing okay today.

Gibber, I'm glad that you finally got medical assistance. It sucks that you have asthma but thank God you now know what you're dealing with and have meds to help you breathe better. Sending gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you're feeling better. 💕🙏🏻🌻😊

So sorry to hear. Having trouble breathing is really scary and really painful. I have asthma a nd severe allergies, so in javav too much experience.
The goodv thing about asthma is that it usually can be controlled with medication. As long as you take your meds when you need them, you should be doing better in no time! Hugs!!!!!!!
