Ups and Downs what a roller coaster ride...

Jun 01, 2015 10:14 AM

I have three nephews and two nieces. They have all grown into amazing adults. My middle nephew married last August to his high school sweetheart. They had a beautiful baby girl in March. This is both mother and father's first baby.

My oldest nephew and his girlfriend are having a baby and are due in August. She went into early labor a couple of weeks ago. They were able to stop the labor and she is doing better now, but has been ordered to take it easy from now till after she gives birth. This is mother's fourth child and father's first.

My youngest niece is having a baby and is due August 3rd. So far she and baby are doing fine. Although she has been complaining of pains she didn't have with her first child. She is separated from the baby's father because he went off his meds for PTSD and lost it on her. Thankfully he did not hurt her or the baby other than a bruise or two. This is her second baby.

My oldest niece was due July 27, she gave birth this morning due to preeclampsia. So far I don't have any details other than she had a boy. This is her third baby and his first.

It's funny because the two nephews having kids are brothers and the nieces are sisters. The nephews are both having (or had) girls and the nieces are both having boys.

Anyway, thanks for listening, or reading in this case.

This is what my youngest niece (Brittany) posted to FaceBook this afternoon: Finally got to see Blake! 2lbs 8oz and 13 3/4 inches long. Tiny little baby but he is doing good so far. Needs help breathing for now. Prayers are much needed still for him and my sister. Tiffy is in quite a bit of pain but she's hanging in there.

Tiffany and Brittany are sisters and have a younger brother Mike. Anyway Brittany and Tiffany have each posted pictures of little Blake. He is adorable and soooo tiny! He's on nasal oxygen so no ventilator! And they said he is a very strong young man and doing well for so early.

Wow, am I glad life doesn't have these rollercoaster ride of emotions every day. I wish I could put his picture here, he is so precious. (Nah, I'm not a proud Great Aunt) LOL

Awesome! Prayers for rapid improvement in breathing!🙏🌼

Baby Blake is up to 3 pounds already!

Tiffany's blood pressure is still out of control, but they won't let her leave until it under control. (I LOVE Buffalo Woman and Children's Hospital) They saved my life when I was 16 and had a pseudo tumor cerebri. They are going to be putting him in an incubator sometime today.

ScaryAnn, you have had a lot on your plate to be happy to think about and to have anxiety over. This must have given you quite a scare. I am sorry you had to feel that. It is scary when we feel we can lose someone especially someone we have been waiting a long time to meet. But it sounds like thinkgs are looking up. I just hope the mothers blood pressure gets under control soon. I am sure it will. But it would be nice to hear that it happens sooner then better.

A little funny terrible story that all worked out fine. My wife and I were expecting our second child. She was a girl. I always wanted a daughter. We had a next door neighbor who was scared of childbirth. So our first was uneventful except for the fact the hospital was one big petri dish of bacteria and my wife go an infection. But my son was born perfectly. So our neighbor comes along. I am watching the monitor and I notice that the distance between contractions were rapidly getting closer within a half hour. The doctor insisted I must be wrong but that he would be wrong. He came in and checked my wife. At them time, my daughters heartrate went down drastically. In front of the neighbor this is happening. The doctor is just not checking my wife but has his hand in my wife yealling stat to the nurses and rushes her into the operating room. I felt so bad for the neighbor but not at that moment. I was so worried about my wife. I wasn't sure if I was normat at that moment. Everyone I have ever known talks about saving and making sure the baby is o.k and I wanted that to happen. In fact, after they took her out, they tried to bring her to me. I just couldn't see her at that moment. I just felt like I was being disloyal to my wife celebrating in the joy of our child while she was not stable so I told them to take her back since I was assured she was perfectly healthy. I was going to make sure we held our baby together. I know that probably makes me sound like a bad father. But I would have loved her with all my being if something happened to my wife. I just wanted to her through that emergency first and give her the first chance to hold our baby since this happened to her.. In the end, She just had a c-section. She was fine. Our baby was perfect. My wife and baby were strong people. Stronger than I was. I was proud of them. To bad for the neighbor though, huh?

I am so glad your wife and daughter did so well! Oh my, your poor neighbor though! :D I hope the scare didn't keep your neighbor from ever wanting children.

I have a small update on baby Blake. His weight is up to 3lbs 2ozs. They are slowing increasing his feedings. He was under the light for jaundice for about 24 hours. He is doing good. Not sure about Tiffany's blood pressure, I haven't heard anything about that yet. But she was released yesterday from the hospital.

So glad to hear the improvements! One step leads to another and another... Praying still!🙏🌼

Sending prayers and thanks for the update. How wonderful that the changes are positive. My best friend has a saying that she always tells me when I am sick or she is and it is "A little bit better, is better than a little bit worse". How true that is. Thank God for these improvements and I hope and pray that they continue.

It's been longer than I planned on since I gave an update on Baby Blake and his Mommy Tiffany. I can only say I have been crazy busy and I hope I can just collapse today and vegetate.

Baby Blake is off the oxygen! They are bottle feeding him ever two hours and he is getting stronger every day. Tiffany got to hold him this week! She said he can come home when he gets his weight up to four pounds.

Praise the Lord! Scaryann, this is wonderful news. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully you can sit and relax today so you don't overdo it. Hugs & prayers! 🙏🌼

Scary Annie Thank God baby Blake is doing so well. We went thru this same situation with my Daughter in April. She gave us the sweetest most beautiful baby girl she weighed 4.12 at birth on April 22 and as of last week she weighs 7.10 lbs. It was a scary time, she was in the Nick U for not wanting to eat, but after 3 days got to come home. If the baby can't keep his weight tell your neice to put 1 tsp of rice cereal with a tsp corn syrup to help with bowel movements. Our little doodle bug would gain a couple of oz's and then loose them on the next weigh in. So I was told by a RN in Nick U to put the cereal in her bottles to help her keep from loosing any more. Since we started with the cereal she has steadily gained wt. Oh Yea tell her if the baby gets the clock colic buy lip ton decaffeinated herbal tea we buy the apple and cinnamon flavor 1 tea bag to 4oz water, 1/4 tsp sugar. It will get the gas off their little stomaches. I was told this by a ER Dr 30 yrs ago.Lol I had carried her two nights in a row to the ER.

That's wonderful news Ann. After such a prolonged and stressful time, that must ease your worries a little. Have you managed to chill out yet?

Thanks every one. I'm so happy that Baby Blake is home. :-)

But as far as the R&R goes, I don't see it happening in the near future... R and I are working on a addition just big enough to put in a new hot water tank. We currently have a 15 gallon tank and are putting in a 40 gallon! I don't know if I remember how to take a HOT bath! LOL We got a wall up today, before I stepped in the ditch and twisted my bad ankle. Thankfully I had my soft brace on. Now I'm back in the ridged ankle brace that I've only been out of for rwo weeks since Christmas.

My family has always said "I can rest when I'm dead". I just hope my pain meds hold out till I go back to pain management. :-)
