Ur too young

So i have chronic head pain as a result of having a braon tumor removed 9 years ago. 3 years ago i decided to file for disability. I was living in louisville at the time and found a lawyer who thought i had a great case. I didnt qualify for disability because ive never worked and my "injury" happened as a minor, but i did qualify for SSI. Shortly after that i became pregnant. So my bf and i moved to his home town in Missouri. I found another lawyer, who also said they felt my case would be easily winnable. At that point i was filing my first appeal. About 8 months after i had my son we moved back up to Michigan. I searched and searched for a lawyer. And every one i called turned me down, saying, "ur so young. 22 year olds should be able to do any job out there."
What the hell does my age have to do with the amount of pain im in? Y does my age over shadow everything else that shows how much pain im in and that i cant work?
I must have called 50 diffrent lawyers... All saying the same thing. I ended up being denied completely after my hearing last year.
Has anyone experienced ths sort of thing? Or way anyone denies disability or SSI for arbitrary reasons like ur age?

Apparently the magic age to have a better chance to win is 49 and a half. Apparently the judges believe it is harder to retrain someone older, a new job skill. You have to have worked enough quarters and pay into the fund to collect from it. Did the take your SSI away? (That was the way I read it in your post) Without working that is what you would qualify for. Since it is a federal program it should not matter that you moved to a different state. Keep appealing for your SSI. The system is very broken in our country. You should have benefits for your baby.

They did not take away SSI, they just denied me from getting it begin with. I appealed as many times as i can. They said if i wish to appeal again it has to actually go to the court of appeals and that can not be done without a lawyer. They said if i want i can re-apply and start from the beginning again.

How horrible they can do that. Just so wrong. I'm sorry it's been so difficult. Age should not matter

Stina I am really sorry to hear this. Fight for your rights . It is sad that you have to keep re applying . Don't give up . It is not fear that ppl judge us without walking in our shoes and it shouldn't matter your age at all.

Wishing you the best of luck. Stay strong. Sending prayers your way..
