So this morning, I had my post ER visit with my doc. Wound is still not even close to being clear at this point(sigh). But now, the more disagreeable part of the whole appointment. Have to do hydrogen peroxide "flushes" twice daily for next 7 days. It beats the alternative at this point, but it's disgusting. Hydrogen peroxide/water mixture 1:1 parts. Not wanting to think about the next steps but I best get my ass to flushing it already.

You got this amanda.... It is better then going womb care for it. Peroxide is a less painful option for me. It won't be that bad.

New, yep you are right. Just don't like having to do it again. Brings back unpleasant memories from May already.

Nov 11, 2015 7:19 PM

Oh I get it.. The life we have to live is a series of unpleasant repeating events. I hate you have to go through that. Do u have someone who could bhelp you do? So at least all u have to do is lay there and wait til it's over .

Nov 11, 2015 7:20 PM

New, nope. Live by myself so kind of just have to do it already.

Nov 11, 2015 7:30 PM

That sucks.. I'm sorry ...I did the living alone for a while well I had my boyfriend but we still lived separately.. Maybe a friend or neighbor could help u.. Just trying to help you find a way to not have it all on your shoulder

New, I just did by myself tonight. Not too terribly bad. Still brings back memories, but not too intense already. Today was more then enough intensity for me for a long time to come. Still have to get through pain management tomorrow morning and then smooth sailing until next Friday.

Amanda, as you flush it you will find it will get better and it will start to heal and become easier to take care of. It really will, believe me, I know that it is stressful and that it brings back memories of the past but you got this. Just think about it as something that just needs to be done and do it as soon as you think of it and get it over with. Sending you supportive {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that it keeps getting easier and that pain management goes quickly and smoothly. I'll be thinking about you. I'm going to TRY to go to bed now. I haven't slept in a bed in 8 years and that's all I have available to me here in this gorgeous log cabin. Thank God it's a cozy one but still hard to try to sleep and I'm exhausted and in agony. Rest, my friend and take each thing as it comes, one thing at a time. It's going to be ok.💕🙏🏻🌻

Oh gosh Amanda, just thinking about it makes me cringe, and gag. 😵 I have a very sensitive gag reflex, although I can't throw up ever since I was intubated in 2010. Peroxide burns even without a major wound! I hope and pray it won't be too bad for you, and that this takes care of it without any more emergencies! 🙏🌼

Flappys, the first time he said it yesterday made me gag after the thought. But it is healing so that's a good thing. Chugging along.

Nov 12, 2015 1:16 PM

It sucks to have to do that, believe me, I'd rather the peroxide. I had to use this stuff that smelled like bleach and made me scream in agony. I don't remember the name of it.. I must have blocked it out for traumatizing me... LOL!! 🙏🏻🌻

And just as an update. It's almost completely closed. Just waiting for the skin to granulate over now. I think he will be very impressed next Friday. Praise god!

Flappys, thank you SO much for the encouragement and prayers. I would have completely lost it by now with anxiety if you guys hadn't been such a calming presence this week.

Glad to hear you are on the mending side now. Keep up the good work. You are a strong lady.

Amanda, so very happy to hear that you are healing up nicely now. I rember having to do that for my hurnia surgery, the surgeon botched up on the surgery and didn't do it right and it got infected and it took over a year for it to heal right and close! Sometimes if I turn the wrong way that site will state to bleed again. It's been 2011 since I had that surgery. So if your ever in Georgia don't use any surgeon out of St.Mary's Hospital

Mopar, not faulting my surgeon nor the OR team. I just know that my body does NOT like stitches at all. Hell, I think that was the first time I've had a stitched wound this entire year. Everything else has been left open. Hoping that all looks good next Friday, and that we can discuss different options for regulating my cycle. This bleeding/spotting crap is starting to drive me nuts. He was pushing for an iud last week, but I'm not quite comfortable with that. I think I just need to get a list of options and research them, and make a decision on it.

We used a lot of the sprayable Celine solution when they had to remove the stitches in my daughters arm and flush it due to an ER error and of course the infection set in so she had days in the hospital on IV anabiotic's everything in our life could've been avoided had they left it open to heal from the inside out and had us change it two times a day which was not pleasant for her or me but it did stimulate the tissue healing and it looks way better now so I'm hoping things go the same as they did for us but all of the anabiotic's the days in the hospital it was all emergency room error in relation to my daughters injury this year
