I'm new here. Suffering with fibro since 18. Getting worse with age. Stiffness, joint cracking, fatigue. Wake up every morning with numb hands.

Welcome I just joined myself and everyone is very welcoming and we are fighting the fight together. You can get good advice, vent, or cry on a shoulder even though it's over the computer. Everyone seems to be here for each other.

Hello. I am new here, too. There is lots of good helpful info & people here. I have numbness and sometimes excruciating pain in my hands. I wear braces on both hands all night every night. My right hand has been operated on, but I still have problems with both pain & numbness. Sometimes I use essential oil rub on my hands. Also, DMSO.

Yes, they do. I tried going without one night & my hands & entire arms hurt so bad. They stayed between aching & numb for a week or so. By now I have worn them for 25 years. Also sometimes wear during day if having probs. I also do hand exercises stretching them & jazz hands.

What kind are they? My numb hands wake me up out of a sleep.

Welcome to our family Chronicpainteacher. I'm sorry about your hands. Have you been checked for carpal tunnel? I wear splints and it helps mine not to go totally numb. Hugs, love, & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌼

I think the cause of my numbness is from my shoulders, but I'm just guessing. I'm a side sleeper and whatever side I'm on that hand goes numb.

Cpainteacher, do you mean the hand braces? They are ordinary medical Velcro braces with a metal plate inside so I cannot bend my wrists while asleep. Yes, I know exactly what you mean about shoulder prob in body position at night. It is a difficulty for me & sometimes hard to tell if is my hands or my shoulders causing pain. I cannot sleep on my back & have severe pain issues with my back & rolling over, twisting, so side is it. So sorry you are having hand pain.

Hey everyone, I have all these issues to. I have carpal tunnel in both hands and wear these braces at night also. But carpal tunnel combined with the fibro is awful! It can make your elbows and shoulders hurt. I toss and turn so much at night my ex had to sleep on the couch. Can't sleep on my sides cause arms and hands hurt so much and go numb, can't sleep on my back to long because of deterioration of my lower discs. So I've discovered sleeping with a million pillows helps. I prop some under my side so it takes pressure off my shoulder and arms. It helps some.
