Wait lists!!!!

Hi guys!
This is just a bit of a vent post! I know I can't whinge too much though cause I've hear the treatment is illegal in the states (for that I am sorry!).
So after getting a new pain specialist after mine passing away he examined me and straight away wrote a letter to my insurance to authorise a ketamine infusion. He wrote this on the 20th of January. The insurer has held his ground that he did not receive this notice until 20th of February... (Call bullshit). And this was then referred to a clinical panel to determine wether it was suitable.(please note I've had this before under my insurer and results were MAGNIFICENT!!).. On Friday 4th of March I finally received my approval today (Monday) I called the hospital excited and got off the phone feeling like crap basically! They told me they hadn't received approval as yet and that once they do I will be put on a wait list for approx 6 weeks. Now I know this doesn't seem like long but remember I've been waiting since January for something that was already in the system as being approved, I've also not been able to have physio as the doctor has advised to wait until after the treatment (hospitalisation for 7-10 days - ultrasound guided PICC line insertion for Ketamine infusion). Not seen my doctor since January due to him thinking I would be in hospital pretty quickly. Some days I'm literally crawling one handed to the showers I can't put weight on my feet and my shoulders... Just having a vent I guess! It's harder knowing the treatment works for me and is available but due to literally no income and insurers being jack asses I can't have that bit of relief.
*just another frustrating moment*

My goodness Kickpainsbutt, I am sorry for the delay in treatment resulting in unnecessary suffering. It seems lost or delayed paperwork is frequently a source of frustration. I am sorry that is your situation. It must be very difficult to maintain with no income. I will keep you in my prayers.

Appreciate your prayers mysisterskeeper, they seems to always conveniently lose my paperwork or "don't receive it".

Maganblondie I have had ketamine infusions before and they worked amazingly I was down substantially on my pain killers only needing over the counter meds for about 3 months that's when things slowly started building back up I was supposed to go back in to have a top up, apparently it lasts longer and longer each time. Although a week before I was supposed to go back in my pain specialist unfortunately passed away! So I can't say for sure it works for longer each time! My doctor was happy with the results from my last stay in hospital... Fingers crossed I'll get in soon.... Just to play waiting game and continually bug the admin team at the hospital.
