Waiting impatiently

Oct 20, 2015 6:16 PM

I had my disability hearing on September 22. My lawyer said I won my case, it was obvious what the judges ruling would be. The judge told me I would have my decision in 30 days. On Thursday is the 30th day. Im getting so impatient.

I don't blame you! But just hang out a few more days. The ALJs are as overworked and underfunded as the rest of us. My old boss did temp work as an ALJ for employment cases. The state pays a pittance compared to what a lawyer would normally make per hour, and despite the work I put in for him, my hours weren't billable at all. Hang in there! If your lawyer says you won, I wouldn't expect a different verdict.

Me too, looking forward to hearing the outcome. It's the worst part, the waiting. 5 years is so long. I'm hoping for the best! When you get your award letter and then you get your back pay you will probably feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of your shoulders.

Thank you! Anonymous1971. I just called the odar today and they said its finalizing, I will have my decision in 14 bus days. Yes I just want to stop worrying financially. My lawyer is pretty sure I won, but I will feel more comfortable having the approval in my hand:)

Happy for you. I have not heard anything. I keep worrying they have lost my paperwork. Nice to hear somebody get some good news.
