Waiting on a diagnosis

Sep 18, 2015 2:58 AM

Hi everyone. I'm Jo, I'm a brit living in Ireland and a nurse.
I've recently been given the tentative diagnosis of Fibro. All makes sense now. The constant bloody pain all over my body. The depression and the overwhelming exhaustion.
Been seeing an osteopath who is great. She has helped me understand that my traumatic pregnancy was probably the trigger and I've been in bits ever since.
I've had to cut down my hours in work recently (but then short staffed so ended up working more!).
I'm just not physically able and my poor nearly 2 yo pays the price. Feel like such a shitty mummy :-((
Sorry for the essay. Thanks for reading xxxx

Joceejo, first I would like to welcome you to our community family. I hope that being here with us you find the understanding, compassion and answers we all need. This is a wonderful place to be knowing that you're never alone and there are no judgements here. I have several issues myself. I've got fibro, DDD, DJD, CRPS/RSD, Scoliosis, cervical spondalytic myelopathy, long thoracic nerve palsy, lordosis, costochondritis, TMJ, Sacral Joint Disfunction with fractures among a few other things that I can't think of right now. One thing I'd like to say to you is that you are NOT a shitty Mom. You, through no fault of your own, have been dealt this blow of having this painful disease. You also can't help they are short handed at work and you've had to take more hours than less. I know it's hard. Be happy that right now you have the strength to take the additional hours and make extra money before there comes a time where you may not be able to work at all. You are among friends here. Never worry about venting and there is always someone here to come to your aid when you need it. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope you can get some relief from your pain. Best wishes.🌻🙏🏻

My first response at reading your reply alwayszinpain apart from awwwwwww thanks. Was HOLY SH#T no wonder you chose that user name. You poor thing!
I am lucky I was able to do the extra hours. Trouble is Im still paying for it. Won't be doing it again! Just can't handle the after math.
Pain killers and bee pollen get me through the day.
On that note I must get out of bed!!!!!

Try to have a better day. I know how very difficult it is to do what is necessary and then you pay for it for days. My thoughts are with you. Give your little one a big hug and that will help you feel better. I'm sending you {{{{Hugs}}}} to get you through your day

Welcome to our community that's more like extended family Joceejo! AlwayZ and I share a lot of issues and refer to each other as twins separated at birth. Lol. I hope you will find as much compassion and care and camaraderie were all building together. There are several websites you'll find info on: www.fmnetnews.com; www.butyoudontlooksick.com; www.living-smater-with-fibromyalgia.com.

Fibromyalgia can be overwhelming at times. Just pace yourself, especially on your bad days. You'll be in my prayers. 🙏🌼
