My name is Jude, and I started having sciatic leg pain while driving home from school 4 years ago. I am 56, and it turns out I have had degenerative arthritis for around 30 years. I also have stenosis, scoliosis, facet something, and the above mentioned sciatica, mainly in the rt. thigh, butt cheek, & calf, and the left thigh. This morning I had a lumbar RF on the right side, and go back in 3 weeks to have the left side done. I've dealt with 3 different pain drs. and think I found a good one, finally! My physical therapist is a god, and he is the one I've learned the most from and gained a lot of relief from. Sorry to go on so much. I don't usually talk about it, so I guess I let it all out with y'all!
hello Jude, Welcome to the place you can just vent. ;) I also have a PT god who provides me with great excercises, manual manipulation, acupuncture, information, and just plain old hands on healing and camaraderie.
I am 50 years old, and I've been diagnosed for about 4 years with Fibro/Lupus/RA & Osteoporosis. I can feel ok for a couple of days, then bedridden for days. it is a roller coaster we are on. Tracking it is interesting and useful for your docs because the pain can addle you and make you forget which part of the coaster you are on when one of the many docs ask how you are doing.
Thanks for making me feel welcome and not alone! I never knew so many people suffered or that there were even pain doctors until I became one of the sufferers! I hope to learn more about my issues and how to better deal with them and the MEDS. sometimes I think the MEDS can cause worse problems than the pain!
