Weather affecting pain?

Apr 09, 2015 11:09 PM

So I've heard those old wives tales or stories of people who get stiff as the pressure changes. As I was entering my pain info for today I realized my arm was more sore than normal today especially with what little activities I've done. Then I realized it's been raining all day long.

It could be unrelated but just wonder if and how the weather affects you.

Oh, yes, weather affects the arthritis that I deal with and joints.
When it's cold my legs just don't want to function properly & I ache in my neck and knees. I basically ache where ever I've had some damage to my body. 😁

MrsH, Weather is a major factor for me too. I always feel my best in Spring and Fall. We are having warmer weather now and although I still hurt, its nowhere near as bad. Praying you'll have a better day today and he he weekend. 🙏🌼

Mrs. H the weather definitely has a 80% with my pain in joints and my neck and back, being stiff also. The Barometric Pressure if it is high you can bank on hurting an being stiff. I can't function until I have a. Couple of cups of coffee, I don't understand why it helps but I swear by it. I guess it oils my joints lol. Give it a try and let me know if it helps you too. I also take my pain meds.

My body is a better weather predictor than any meteorologist. I wish I had their six figure salary. At least I am accurate. Most of the weather predictions we get are wrong. The weather increases my pain exponentially.

Oh yes, that is completely true. I can tell when it's going to rain or snow at least 3 days ahead of time.

I deal with S.A.D. as well, & tell you what , caffeine is the best pain cure (for me anyway.) Although, with what I have learned about what it does to the kidneys if taken to much, I only drink 1 cup of coffee or take a Vivrin a day. 😳
I was living on coffee to much. I'm taking Naproxen (strong anti-Imflamitory) in the a.m. & Tramadol at night so I can sleep although, Tramadol has a tendency to keep one away, with the S.A.D. & Spindylolistheisus & Compromised Immune System Disorder, I have ZERO problems being so tired I do not sleep. 😝

I could always tell when the weather was going to change because I'd start to ache in my hot spots. I was spot on all the time! Then hubby up and moved up to Seattle. Now I ache all the time! Lol
