Wedding ring advice?

Sep 17, 2016 1:27 PM

My arthritis only just recently started hitting my hands and it's been miserable. My ring has been cutting into my finger and I had to take it off because if the swelling gets worse, I wouldn't have the option. I love my ring and I hate that it's becoming a problem... I know some people wear it on a necklace and some people get tattoos, but what are your solutions and opinions? I'm kind of crushed about the whole situation. :(

My Mother had RA so severe from 30 years to end of her life. Her ring was altered to have a fastening on palm side with a sturdy metal snap like you see on some watches. She wore it that way for years. I have both Dad's & her rings now. I think about having them made into a new ring to wear, but it would have a ton of diamonds I would have to watch so many prongs for wear. Don't know what to do with them!
Hope this helps, if you want to keep wearing your truly gorgeous wedding ring😍

Have a good jeweler put a hinge on the side. No pain moving the ring over swollen knuckles.

Size up and get that silicone ring fitter to fill the space. In sorry I'm blanking on the word but my mom does that

I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings for almost 3 yrs now! I have tried getting it sized and other options but my fingers swell so much its completely unpredictable! I am crushed that I can no longer wear them either. I wear them on a necklace now and say" they are close to my heart!" I know this isn't a solution but it was constantly cutting off my circulation and I almost had to get them cut off! Best of luck I hope you find an option that works for you!

Anna1978, I cannot wear mine either, not for several years now. I had them enlarged , cleaned & built up and the first time I wore they as append in back. After all that I gave up. My hands swell and contract even several times a day. Sad😭

Resize with the inside addition of a ring band for fit (metal or silicon).
