Weird question

Those of you with problems with unstable joints-

...do you have jaw problems after brushing your teeth?

I do, and it's annoying lol. I have mild TMJ but never had a dislocation. It seems like my jaw gets unstable after brushing. Dunno if that's related to my pending EDS diagnosis.

I have TMJ but never had dislocation. I have cracked several teeth because of mine and it does cause daily headaches.

My jaw will "lock" open or closed and snap when it releases. I think at these times it might be out of place. I've learned to massage the joint when it starts to ache, that can sometimes stop it from locking and snapping. I have often bitten my tongue when this happens. I have lost count on how many times I've drawn blood on the inside of my cheek, my tongue, and even my lip when it happens.

I have also recently learned that I can't turn my head when I chew because this makes it lock and snap even worse. I have to look straight ahead when I'm chewing, talk about a pain if someone is sitting beside me talking to me.

I have no teeth left as they all rotted from the inside out and then broke off at the gum line and I have dentures. On days that I brush without taking them out or when I brush my gums and tongue, I do have issues with my jaw but I have severe TMJ. I've not had a dislocation but thought that I might at times. It does cause a lot of headaches and eat issues, etc. Some people find that getting a splint helps to sleep with at night so they don't clench or grind their teeth. I clench and grind my dentures. Good luck. I wish you all the best of luck and sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}# and prayers that you feel better soon.💕🙏🏻🌻😊

I have hypermobility syndrome and fibro, because of the hypermobility my jaw has moved out of place and torn the cartridge in both sides of my jaw, I was given gabapentin to help with the pain and it has settled it a lot! If I do find it sore I tend to massage my jaw and that helps.
