Apparently I'm allergic to nature in general LOL
No wonder hiking always made me an itchy, sneezy, runny nose, raspy, wheezing, short of breath mess.
Thankfully, even though some of mine are pretty bad, I have never had to use my Epi-pen. I am taking a beta blocker for my heart and was told that if I ever needed the Epi-pen there is a good chance it won't do anything because the beta blocker will block it from working.
You should have seen my son's list...his makes others look like a pea in a bucket...add fruits, vegetables, Peanuts, on top of everything outdoors. I could carried a medication bag which included Epi-pen. My daughter just called...25 years old she is on her way to the doctor they are putting her on a beta blocker... She was wearing a heart monitor and it revealed heart problems. Of course on top of all my chronic pain and the illness that causes that I have heart issues. I am sad for my baby girl.
MySistersKeeper, I have cousins that are like that with their allergies. It can be very scary! I'll keep your daughter in my thoughts as well. I was 36, I think, I'm bad with dates and ages) when I had a heart attack.
Ann, yes I'm also taking a beta blocker and my psych.told me the same thing about my albuterol inhaler and the beta blocker but knock on wood, it's never given me any trouble. My sisters, I also carry a small medication pouch wherever I go.
Yikes! Mine are seasonal, and "book dust" from old paper. Guess what our house is full of!! Also rabbits and ferrets make me itchy...
I'm on a heart monitor to follow up on my ER trip last month. Palpitations have pretty much stopped, but I occasionally feel like I've been kicked in the chest at random times.
Genetics sucks. My mother lived on wheat germ for decades, then found she was allergic to wheat !! She's probably celiac, I'm a bit sensitive to wheat. And soy, bleah.
Hang in there. It's so hard to hear your baby is sick and there's little you can do but love them. And knowing your allergies, you can avoid those things, and start feeling a bit better. Read every label, including makeup and lotions!!!
