... and they've decided to treat me! I've been prescribed oxycodone, and I've scheduled a visit with them next month for an epidural steroid injection. Never did I think that I would get excited over a needle in my spine. I was so afraid that they would review my case and decide that I wasn't sick enough to deserve their help, or they would just see me as a drug-seeker. The struggles of being 21 and chronically ill, amirite?
Flimsywrists, I am so very, very happy that pain management is going to treat you!! It really IS amazing the things we can get excited about like a needle in the spine but to those of us who understand, it's fantastic. I hope it brings you some much merge relief and that the meds help keep the pain at bay. Congrats!!!!
Flimsy, I'm so glad you got into pain management! I remember being excited to meet different doctors, and hallucination the whole way there. I hope the Oxycodone helps. Beat of luck with your next appointment.
Fab hunny and yeah just people that live in chronic pain would understand the "yeay I'm having injections or treatment lol. I'm having injections in my spine next week too only taken 15 months for something to be tried!! I'm hoping they work infact praying they will as d9nt know how much I can cope with this paralysing hurrendous pains 😢. Hope you help hun. Good luck x
Yeah, I can relate so well to that feeling! I hope the shot works for you! I just started pain management myself this year. They've been doing trigger point injections. They also did a nerve block (cortisone shot) in the SI joint. For me the nerve block didn't work at all and the trigger point injections are still out for debate. LOL The last time I had one in my shoulder, it relaxed the muscle too much and I spent that night holding my shoulder in socket because it kept falling out. I start a new pain med as soon as my pharmacy gets it in stock late in the week.
Flimsywrist, yeah I can relate. I pray the shots work out. It took a year and a half before the shots would do any good, now that they wore off 4 months ago I can't wait for my shots to be done again! Pills don't work well anymore and shots work better. ( RDF)
I thought I was the only one who is feeling happy about a needle in the spine. Ibuprofen no longer works for long a and due to several allergies, opiates except for tramadol are out. Let's just hope these injections work already.
