Well, I thought life was getting better

Apr 22, 2015 11:17 AM

Then I got hit by what I'm calling hell on earth(stomach virus). Watch out for this one guys. It is a monster of one.

Apr 22, 2015 11:31 AM

Oh Amanda, I'm so sorry! Its probably because you were already worn out. Take it easy and get better sooner than later. Praying a complete recovery is already at the door! 🙏🌼

You poor thing. Best wishes on a full and speedy recovery.

Apr 22, 2015 8:55 PM

I'll say my prayers for you 💕

Thanks guys, Compazine is my best friend at this point. No energy to do anything else but just lay still and do nothing.

Apr 23, 2015 8:19 AM

Prayers to you for a speedy recovery..

Amanda, saying prayers that you get over this stomach virus quickly. To me being stomach sick is the worst sick you can be. I will do whatever I can to not throw up. I will talk myself out of it until I just can't talk myself out of it any longer and at 50 years old, I still need to have someone with me when I do throw up because I had a bad experience when I was a kid and I'm afraid I'm going to choke to death. Relax and stay rested and hope you feel better fast.

If it is the same bug I got I totally feel for you. If I eat I get sick. Which if i dont eat i actually feel better. Today marks day 7. I heard there are a couple different flu bugs going around 1 only lasts a few days and the other 10 to 14 days. The longer seems to be selective because sometimes only one person in the home gets it. So far I am the only one in my home of course.

Shammargen, I'm feeling the same way. If I eat anything other then crackers, I'm nauseous to the point of throwing up, but I'm not throwing up. I just feel blah at this point, like it's sucked my energy bone dry right now which doesn't take a lot at this point. It feels like it went away and then bam, right back again.

Try eating organic crystallized ginger. I get mine from the grocery store. It's strong (spicy but sweet) so take little bites but it's a natural antiseptic and will calm the tummy fast! And it's not a pill! Hang in there!

I always keep Canada Dry Ginger Ale for that very reason. I'm praying all of you feel better soon!

Myth busters did a show comparing fresh ginger, ginger pill and motion sickness pills. The ginger worked better, either form.

FlappysLady, not allowed any form of soda at this point in time(pre lap-band). Hopefully, can't do ginger(trigger food for GERD for me). Might have to look at motion sickness meds this weekend.

That's too bad. Spicy or greasy foods and canned tuna hurt my Gerd. Gingerale doesn't bother it if I sip small amounts and drink only 2-4 oz at a time. But different people have different reactions with Gerd, just like everything else. Hopefully you can find something soon.

Ginger, peppermint tea and Apple Cider Vinager. Hope you feel better soon.

Apr 24, 2015 6:03 AM

FlappysLady, I believe the worst is probably over at this point. No nausea when I woke up, feeling human again finally. Still don't really have energy but my energy waxes and wanes based on pain levels as well.

Apr 24, 2015 8:08 AM

Well hopefully that's gone and you have one less thing to worry about. Maybe in 24 hours you'll have more energy. Being sick like that, you may be a little dehydrated. Try drinking some Gatorade or other electrolyte replenishment drink. And rest to give your body time to recoop.

Lymie, I'm curious to know how the peppermint tea & apple cider vinegar helps. 🙏🌼
