Been feeling really quite good with the post-op nausea today, but now it has decided to return with a vengeance already. Getting ready to try some toast once again. Able to keep food down, but just have no appetite at all.
Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast = BRAT diet, while nauseated. Ginger ale works well too, but let it set a few minutes to lose some carbonation. A doc told my hubby to cook some Ramen chicken noodles in water and let me sip and eat it. I was so nauseated after the post op Ileus, and that actually helped me. Doc said it's something in the salt and seasonings. I hope you feel better real soon. I'm joining AlwayZ in prayer, it will be so! 🙏🌼
Hey guys, well must say really annoyed right now and I hope this is not tmi, but can't sleep. 3 bouts of the runs big time over night. Half debating if I need to call in the morning or not. No fever, just feel semi off right now. Nausea is still there but only a tiny bit. Ideas?
Poor you!! I'm so sorry. Bananas help with nausea and diarrhea. White rice is good too. Or maybe just liquids like spirits, ginger ale, Powerade or Gatorade. Water makes me more nauseous when I'm sick. Popsicles or jello. 🙏🌼
Flappys, it appears to have stopped for now. Talked to my nurse this morning, and she explained to me that it was probably just my bowels waking up after surgery. She does want me to try to stick with liquids for right now. If it gets any worse today, contact the gyns office. It also could have been the colace that I took because I suspected the Vicodin was making me constipated. Yep, that would have explained it. Need to go get another dose of phenergan in this morning. I did eat last night, but again back to being semi-nauseated this morning.
No, I couldn't reach to the floor either. Your insides went through a lot of manipulation so they are going to be sore and spasm on and off. Have you tried a low heat pad or ice pack (towel between our and ice)? I hope you rest fairly well tonight. 🙏🌼
Not yet, but that might be worth it later on tonight. Going to try a dose of pain meds and then heat if that doesn't work. Beginning to feel really rough again tonight. Going to bed, hope to feel semi-normal in the morning.
Night time will be worse, or it always is with me. My doc told me to take one Tylenol with my pain med (after my last surgery) at bedtime. I won't lie, it took me two weeks to stand up straight instead of humped over. But they had to do so much cleaning out and repairing (5 in 1 surgeries). I spent a week in the hospital. Hopefully you won't have to go through anymore surgery unless it's to do a hysterectomy (if you want it). I did find that gentle circular running (don't press) helped with the grass and motility of everything. It was relaxing to the spasms.
Flappys, depending on what gets said at post-op appointment, that might be a possibility. In actuality though, even though there was no evidence of endo, something went right. I've not had any of the lower left sided pelvic pain since surgery so I'm eager to hear what he says and even more eager to get these stitches out of my belly. They are driving me nuts.
