What A Way To Start The Day!!!

Mar 19, 2016 8:39 AM

Got up early this morning with my daily chronic pain. But while in the kitchen this morning I took a tumble down on both knees. I fell close enough to the counter that I was able to pull myself up...after a little while down on the floor. But man Oh man did I hurt my knees, and ankle. Bruised myself badly.
What a way to start the day. Frustrated with falling. I have a cane, walker, rolator but I must confess I don't use them much because I want to appear normal. My legs are hurting!!

Ouch! I hate when a day starts like that! Hope the pain lessons quickly! I know exactly what you mean though. I have the cane, walker, and crutches, but I don't use them inside the house if I can get away with it.

I'm so.sorry you feel. I'm glad u didn't hit your head. I understand the need to look normal but pleas don't hurt yourself more by nkt using the aids you have. Rest up and heal.

I am so sorry you fell. It is a terrible way to start the day. I hope the pain lessons. I hope that you can change the way the day turns out so that it will not stay a negative day. Like Newfibrogirl said, I am glad that you did not hit your head. I have fallen and hit my head. But with me, there is nothing to damage so I am safe. Do you know why it happened? Is it part of An ongoing problem or was it just an accident. I really hope your day gets better. Best wishes to you always.

MySistersKeeper, I am so sorry that was the start of your day. What an absolute nightmare. I wish I could say it was easy to submit to using aides to help us walk but we have them for a reason. I, unfortunately, cannot use a cane any longer because my shoulders are so bad, I can't lean on it. So, I do go off balance quite a bit and too over and occasionally fall. It's not a fun thing to have to live with for sure!! Put ice on the bruises 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. Do that for the first 24 hours or so and then heat if you need it. Sending you reassuring {{{{Hugs}}}} and prayers that you feel better soon.💕🙏🏻🌻❤️

Thank you Scary, Alwayz, Profiler, Newfibrogirl, The day went better but I think I hurt my back on top of my legs during my wipe out. I had a hard time walking even the short distance I could walk before my crash and burn. I am thankful also that I did not hit my head which I have in the past. Yes my lack of balancing is a result of my illness. My doc told me my body is attacking my muscles which weakens my muscles. I found when I consistently go to the Natatorium and do water therapy... It helps my balance and I fall less. I haven't been consistent. I seem to be so exhausted just totally wore out from the illness. I have not gone to the Natatorium . I would appreciate input / suggestions on how to deal with the daily fatigue and exhaustion. Thank you again. I really appreciate your expressed concern and support. I am blessed being a part of this community. HUGS!!

MySistersKeeper, I wish with all my heart that I could give you some gem of wisdom on how to deal with the daily fatigue and exhaustion. When you have certain autoimmune diseases, your body rarely (if ever) acheoves REM sleep. Which you know is the restorative sleep we all need to heal and rejuvenate. Therefore, our bodies are never truly rested. That being said, it also has an adverse effect on our minds. The worse the exhaustion, the worse we feel and it's a viscious cycle!! I hope that perhaps you will find some energy to go back to the Natatorium and get some water therapy to help you keep your balance. Please try to get some rest today so your back can heal. Sending you much love, gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you feel better soon and get some sleep. 💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Alwayz, thank you! I receive all you have written here...especially your prayers and encouragement to move forward in spite of the fatigue and exhaustion. Everything I have read from you on each post has blessed me today. Thank you!

Mysisterskeeper, I'm just catching up on posts and I'm so very sorry you feel and hurt yourself! I hope you're much improved by today. Like you & Scaryann, I hate using my assistive devices inside. But my urologist took me off oxybutynin (IC & OAB) and put me on AZO & Tamsulosin/Flomax, to relax my urethra muscles. I'm retaining too much urine, not emptying. He said to use my cane because it can cause orthostatic hypotension & passing out. Yay! Not. Lol

Please refresh my memory on your dx that's causing the weakened muscles. I'm having horrible fibro-fog days, for over a week now. Hugs! 🙂💕🙏🌼
