At the moment my favourite comfort food is homemade soup.....in the top half of the picture is my chunky veg and soya protein chunks soup and the bottom half is my adapted version of MizzMonroe's chicken soup....I had to add carbs to it because my daughter was having some and she needs the "good" carbs like from the sweet potato so she can have her insulin injection (she's type 1 diabetic). Feel free to add your favourites.....especially any good recipes you have, I love trying new flavours all the time.. ....
Jahmac that sounds delicious.....can you share the recipe? I've never tried plantain....I've always wanted to but been too afraid that I'd cook it wrong!
Gibber is that with all the trimmings as well? I haven't had nachos for a while, I like to add chilli, cheese and if I'm feeling really brave jalapeños over them! (Not too many jalapeños tho they'd burn my taste buds too much with their spice!)
Alwayz I've not had lobster in a long time but I do love the extra large prawns with a medium rare steak sliced in french stick with a sweet chilli sauce
Sezzy, you're making my mouth water!! I've not had lobster in a while myself.. always been a fave of mine. However, my sister makes a pulled pork and also smoked ribs to die for!! OMG.. I'm salivating like Pavlov's dog!!! LMAO!!🙄😜😳😉
Alwayz I'm with you salivating!!! Lol I might have to get a joint of pork and do my pulled pork as well!!!! Hhhhmmmmm this post is probably the best and worst idea I've had in a while......the stone I've lost in the last month may come back with a vengeance!!!! Lol
@ Sezzy & Kell74, It's just a shout cream cake baked in 7 very thin layers. Then the icing is a further icing made in a iron skillet, and poured over each layer. The top layer you drizzle in circles so it goes down the sides. If I can find the recipe I'll post it. My stepmom also cheats with yellow or butter Duncan hinges cake mixes (2) in a hurry
Popcorn.. Yum. Kettle corn? Even better. Sour cherry candies - because it takes me back to my teen years and movie theatres. Lol. And Fried Chicken for the same reason. Any time we traveled mom made alot of it. Enough to fill a big Tupperware bowl. We would stop.at road side parks and run. Then have chicken before moving on. So, while I love both of those I consider them comfort foods because of the memories attached to them. Oh and Turkey always brings to mind my Mammaw who when we finally arrived (I am an Army brat - so we never lived close)
