What do I do?

I fell over whilst I was doing some jogging in pe as I can’t participate,I landed quite awkwardly on top of my ankle,ever since I have been quite severely limping,but ever since 1 week past I can’t rlly put any weight onto my foot(usually hopping everywhere) my ankle is swolllen,and I often get pins and needles and have constant pain usually quite sever causing me to cry,my mum knows,and I saw a doctor last week,the doctor laughed it off and said come back in a week,and told me I would be fine(I’m not)
The tendon that goes over the arch of your foot is so painful it’s actually unreal! I have a lump on the back of my heel,my Achilles’ tendon is rlly painful,the tip of my tib/fib at my ankle is always tender,and there is swelling,my mum knows about all the swelling and tells me to take ibeprofen which didn’t help with pain or swelling,so I don’t take it anymore as I’m trying to be careful on what I take and also there is no point taking it if it does nothing! I’ve asked my mum for another appointment but use sais no,I’ve mentioned A&E but she sais no because it’s the Christmas season and the hospital is very busy(which I understand) but she does nothing,and I dk how to cope over the Christmas period!😭 I usually just lie in bed all day,and cry,but obviously I can’t on Xmas.
I’m just wondering if any1 has any ideas on how to cope,and things to do to distract me??

In USA we have Ace wraps, they're elastic bandages. I would suggest you use something like that. Put it on in a figure 8.

An ice pack may help with the swelling. Your injury doesn’t sound like something that is just going to pass within a week, so if I were you I’d be going back and demand something to be done. I’m so sorry this has happened right over Christmas. Keep it elevated and rested I’d suggest but I’m not an expert

Animallover2 Yh I have an ace bandage on in a figure 8,it helps a little with support,and makes my ankle feel a little more stable but not a massive difference,thx for the advice,and your time Xx

Sarah10 I’m icing it every hour for 10-20 mins depending on how busy I am! I’ve spoken to my mum about this situation and she tells me nothing can be done until after Xmas,as we don’t want to go into hospital when they are already busy,and turn out with a sprain! So we are waiting until after Christmas,so I guess I have to find a way to cope until then!😭

As Sara10 suggested keep your ace bandage on. Please be careful that you don’t wrap it to tight as is can cut off your circulation to the area and make it worse. Elevate your leg and continue to do your ice compressed as told. It may take a couple of days or more depending on how severe the injury is. Take the ibuprofin as it also helps with inflammation and pain. Try not to bear full weight on that foot. I have had a similar injury and it took almost a week to heal. Hang in there.If you continue having issues with your ankle, as soon as Christmas is over I’d see your doctor for further evaluation. Good Luck and truly have a Merry Christmas. Try to focus on other distractions ie; read, watch tv, talk to friends etc. Wish you a speedy recovery.
