What's your magic?

May 20, 2017 10:43 PM

I'm having a rough night so I was thinking about what I could do to help my pain and it made me wonder.... what do other people do to help with pain?

So everybody, what's your magic solution? Be it a pill, a cream, a stretch, whatever. Let me know because I'm always up for trying something new

Combo of Oxycodone, Gabapentin, and Tizanidine with some Icy Hot with lidocane. I do some stretches also with a resistance band.

Sex. Mindblowingly great sex. It seems counterintuitive, but I think it's the release of all those pleasure hormones. Totally helps. Is that too raunchy to say out loud? I guess it's a good thing I'm typing. That is, unless you're a teenager - in which case I recommend a hot bath with Epsom salts, topricin cream, a massage and meds. Then, when you are WAY older, get married and have responsible mind blowingly great sex.

I also love to go on YouTube and watch comedians when I'm hurting. Laughter is the best medicine and a fantastic distraction.

@fatiguedfighter I wish I was able to use that as a way to feel better. My body is sometimes ok during, but after it's like I got hit by a Mack truck 🙁

Heat pad, ice packs, hand held massager, foam rollers, electric stim (you can buy a tens, interferentual or other unit with a doctors note), ultrasound (portable home unit), various creams...my favorite is cryoderm, biofreeze and alcis, listen to music with headphobes, pet the dog, make some hot tea, find comfort in a soft quilt, take more meds...melatonin

For me it's take my pain meds and anxiety meds. Take 2 shot glasses of sangria and 2 or 3 ice cubes in it. Then sit in a hit bath with Epsom salts in the dark with some candles listening to Enigma songs and sipping on the sangria for about 30-40 minutes. Then have a..... Ummmmm... Sexual release shall we say (sientist have proven people can withstand much higher levels of pain when sexually aroused and active) then dry off and pass out asleep.

Now drinking and pain meds are bad yes. That's why I only take a very little if a low alcohal content drink and water it down and sip over a long period.

You have to choose wisely for yourself what to do I do not recommend it to be done or have you choosing vodka straight up or what ever.

I take Lyrica. It really takes a lot of my pain away. I get it free from the manufacturer. I also went gluten free. It cut my pain level in half.
