47 my accident happen June 27 and my pain came on me 2 weeks later left leg, neck, back, hip, buttocks, shoulders where I couldn't get up the next day for work been out from work since 2013 with back and knee surgery and fibromyalgia and still trying to recover.
I've had low level back pain in my lower back since I was pregnant with my son in 1994. But in 2014 I fell in the snow (barely bruised my butt) and the next day my back really ached. I didn't think much of it, we'd been shoveling snow so I figured I'd just overdone it. It continued hurting but dismissed it. Then got hit with a few medical issues (gynecological) and no one was explaining things properly so I got very afraid and stressed and suddenly my pain levels started skyrocketing. Not just my back, but my shoulders and knees (every injury I'd ever had suddenly was haunting me). I started missing work and managed to burn four weeks of vacation and four personal days in a couple of months. Plus FMLA.... July 23, 2014 I left work at the end of the day barely able to walk and crying. The next day I went to my doc and began the long process of diagnosing my fibro, DDD, arthritis, three ruptured lumbar disks, carpal tunnel, plus a few other wonderful things. As for remembering life without pain? I don't. It seems like I've always hurt. I know there used to be a time, I just can't remember. 😊 oh, and I've been out of work since that day in July.
I'm 21. My CRPS started 9/25/13. Yes I remember going ro the gym everyday in zero pain before this. I always went out dancing every weekend and lived life to the fullest. Now I'm thankful I did because I stay in bed 20hrs of the day now and my parents have to be my caregivers.
I can't remember not having pain I have CRPS since I was 11(in 18 now). I was taken out of gym since I was 11. I couldn't go many places. I dont remember ever living with no pain. So I know how you feel Cuz.
I hurt my upper back in my 20's Dr told me it a as a pulled muscle and I would just have to live with it, in January 2010 I had a on the b job injury where I hung the toe of my shoe in the leg of a potty chair started to fall an caught the edge of the back of a chair twisted and slid over arm of chair hit the seat then slid down and landed on floor. Herniated disk @L4S1 with uprooted nerve, had to have a anteriordiskectomy on C5,6,7 with a titanium plate with 3 screws. I had a Syrinx from C7 to L12. I have Syringomyelia, Fibromyagia, Osteoarthritis, Degenerative disk disease, and Spondylosis as well as several more diseases. It is hard to be able to remember when I didn't have any pain.
My pain started in 1992 and got progressively worse within 2 years. I found a good team of doctors who all communication. So, it's been over 22 years with horrible pain and I have no clue to what it feels like any more to not have any pain any more.
I appreciate your honesty guys. My pain started when I was 14. Just one day I had a really bad headache. I thought nothing much of it. But two weeks later I still had it. Went to loads of doctors and tried loads of different medication and techniques for recovery. Some of it helped me in managing it but still I haven't ja one day in the past 2and a half years that I haven't had a headache. It's hard to enjoy everything. Normal ppl just don't get chronic pain
Mine started when I was an infant. It started with my shoulders. My Mom said people would try to pick my up using my arms and I would scream and cry until I finally fell asleep. 40+ years later we learned I had hEDS, and she was right, my shoulders were dislocating. I just got one wrist splint made Tuesday, it has cut my wrist dislocations in half. I've gone fron 20+ times per day down to about 10! Now if only I dared move around more...
