When it rains it pours...

On top of everything else, I've got asthma and I became sick early November with a cold. Right after Thanksgiving I began to feel a little better and then relapsed. Christmas exposure to 3 others who were sick added fuel to the fire. I cannot get well and last night my mouth was covered in pinprick red spots that burned & tingled, on top of the white scaly patches I've had since just before Christmas. This morning i had zero voice, so I go to the doctor and he tells me its viral and I just have to wait it out.

Got a call from my Aunt, and my Uncle passed away this am. He'd been fighting a recurrence of cancer. He's at peace at least and not suffering. But I can't expose others to my virus by going to the funeral, and that breaks my heart.

My dad also saw a doctor this am, a cardiologist. He's got fluid around his heart and was diagnosed with copd last October. The doctor said he's extremely anemic but says its important he goes to this appt at Mayo. He's been fighting symptoms of his original cancer (1982 & 2007) for 4 months. They're sending him to Mayo clinic next week for internal scoping. They suspect the cancers in his small intestines. And I can't go around him because he needs to stay well. Nor can I go down to Mayo until I'm well. This really is tough! Send a prayer up for my Dad & Aunt...thanks!

I am sorry flappy that you were having a hard time. I hope that things will improve soon. It seems when I am sick for a while or my really bad pain goes on for a while, that it has gone on forever. And that it is always been that way. So I'm not sure if you feel this way, but I thought maybe you might feel that you have been sick forever with being sick so long. When I am hurting really bad for a long time, and I get that break, it seems like a long time ago has passed since I Hurt that bad. So I'm hoping that you get to feeling better soon with this current crises, and it will seem like a long time since it is happened. I hope I don't sound crazy. Sometimes my words don't make sense. The pain does that to me. But the bottom line is, I hope that this bad spell is going to pass soon. And I'm sorry that you're not able to go to the funeral or be with your father, but I think your father knows what you would do and that you would be there for him. So let that comfort you knowing what you would do. Sorry for your loss on your uncle.

I hope you feel as well as you possibly can every day. That's all we all wish for isn't it?

Thank you iathompson & profiler. And yes, profiler, it does seem like when one ailment hits (like asthma) it's not long before I get a flare up of my fibro or osteoarthritis. It does seen like it takes forever. Unfortunately this flu season crossed paths with an upper respiratory (I caught) and a rash issue. I just have to reduce my exposure to other possible bugs until I'm well. And I certainly wouldn't be helping my dad or aunt if I gave them my virus. Like you said, sometimes we just need to vent, and I'm just frustrated at it all. But I'll be fine because I have support here, and God. He us my lifeline ever since I got sick in 2010. Goodnight & bless you both.
