So question is what protien poweders or shakes are food to you?/ I've tried some but they taste to medicine ..I'm looking for a nice flavored protien that is smooth not harsh..lol.sounds like I'm looking for beer choices. Lol..but really canu guys give me ideas and names of proteins..thanks..
My dietician recommended vega sport recovery. I don't mind it but all protein powders leave lots to be desired. I put it in my morning smoothie, or my 24oz protein shaker cup. They all say 8oz of liquid, but thats like drinking chalk so i thin it out.
I don't mind ordering online. But like u I have to space them out. Thanks for the info..I'm gonna look them up. I need varity so I don't get bored with stuff. And I hate that medicine taste most protien has..
I put the vanilla in my smoothies and i bought the berry one for when i don't want to eat first thing but do want to get my workout in. Then I'll just use my protein drink as my water bottle. I have heard good things about the chocolate one, my mom really likes it, but having an intolerance to cocoa i haven't tried it.
I like premier protein shakes.. I get them at Sam's club for about $18 for 20 of them. Very reasonable. 30 GMs protein and I think just like 6 GMs of sugar. Sugar causes inflammation for me, so I try to keep it very low. But the taste is awesome. I get chocolate flavor, add a tablespoon of instant coffee, and then 1 pack of stevia or your preferred sweetener. And I add ice and blend. It's like a frappe. Relish!!
This is coming from two ladies I know that have fibro. Both have nixed any shakes that come from mixes. They have diff. Docs, but very young docs. Their docs advised never to use processed store bought products . As they tend to make the pain worse. For protien they stick to eggs, one has her own chickens, the other buys free range. Both say the extra cost in buying or raising them are cheaper than all the pain meds. One of the girls took 12 weeks to wean herself off processed foods and now only take meds on rare occasions. The older one used oils for her pain. Just a thought that I have seen work.
Also, try cutting down on white sugar. They both use honey and some of the foods they make are yummy, even the glutton free stuff. I'm just flat out lazy or I cut the glutton more. And i am addicted to pop so not giving that up. Lol
