Winter is suppose to be my reprieve from thunderstorms

Jan 17, 2017 5:16 AM

Am I the only one here who cannot stand thunderstorms? Not be beacuse they are scary but because of the unbelievable pain they cause. So hard to explain to people that a storm can make you hurt so bad that you just wanna curl up in a ball and hide. The cold and snow of winter cause some aches and pains but it's nothing compared to the excruciating whole body misery caused by storms.

Hi happytoseethesunshine, I actually get panic attack's during thunderstorms, my old therapist said it was from all the hurricanes that I've gone through. I get migraines most of the time we have a thunderstorm, the lightning trigger's them. Extreme cold and heat set me into full body flair's. Your not alone. Healthy people will never understand us, my husband is supportive but he will never understand what I have to go through on a daily basis. Thier are time's he has said you all better, so I just tent to hide my real pain and push through as if I'm not in any pain.

I felt the same way Sezzy, used to love watching storms but now my kids call me the human barometer, the worse i hurt, the worse the storm lol

Winter is still my favorite time of year. The rain and overcast and gloom just brings out the best mood in my mind. But , oh my word, I am in the worst pain. My friends and family make fun of me because I'm miserable right before a storm and right after. But excited during because it's fun watching it from my window covered up with my electric blanket. 😂😂

Thunderstorms kill me as does the snow, rain, humidity, etc.. I do, however, LOVE thunderstorms.. they are amazing to me and I love to watch them.

Winter cold & thunderstorms cause me more pain. I think it's the barometric pressure changes.

It is the pressure change, if u google it they have actually done studies on it. The worse the low pressure, the worse the pain. I live near the great lakes and usually in the winter most our weather comes from lake effect, not huge swings in the pressure
