wondering what to expect from Klonipin

Feb 14, 2016 3:46 PM

My Dr currently has me on prednisone and prescribed percocet for breakthrough pain. It wasn't helping. So today he started me on Klonipin. Has anyone else taken this and has it been helping?

I have taken it before, it's for anxiety so if steroids and pain med didn't help then the doctor probably thinking it might be stress related.

It's still too early to know if the steroid is going to help. It's only been a couple of days. He's experimenting until my blood work comes back. Hell even if all it does is make me not focus on the pain all the time, it'll be an improvement.

The steroid does take a couple of days to work. So give it a little longer.

I am. It's a 25 day regimen and I'm on day 3. The breakthrough pain I just couldn't deal with. It's debilitating.

I've been taking 2 mg of clonopin for anxiety for 8 years now. It definitely helps me for anxiety with no side effects. I've gone lower to 1 mg and had a few panic attacks and gone higher to 3mg and was manic and very nasty so I know it helps. If I miss a dose I get horrible withdrawal symptoms. So it definitely helps me. Good luck.

It seems to have issued a restraining order on the anxiety. It's no longer nipping at my heels waiting to attack. And it's making me care less about the pain, although it is ever present and still hurts like hell. My ra and Lupus tests will be back Thursday, so I'll find out if it's one of them or fibromyalgia, then.

Yes it works like that. At least something is helping for your anxiety. It's a little better when one symptom is relieved rather than none. Good luck with your test results on Thursday.
