Work vs Treatment

Jun 01, 2016 9:42 PM

It's a busy time of the year having run programs, evaluate and write reports to funding bodies. I'm feeling under the pump and I'm a sole worker part time doing a full time role. In amongst all that is my other life of chronic back pain which today is excruciating. Probably worse because of stress. The Pain clinic has me booked in for a week of appointments which is a 6 hour one way trip by car and plane in just over a week. I have to cancel all my paid employment and I won't be replaced. I'll have so much to catch up on so this treatment better bloody work! I'm at work now and all I want to do is lie on my office floor to make the pain stop.

Ouchie. I have done the lie down on the office floor. That sucks that you are so overworked and there won't be a replacement to do the work while you are gone. Beat of luck with your appointments

*Best of luck not beat. Geez sometimes technology isn't helpful

I'm very hopeful that these appts will help me out. The pain specialist is quick to tell me off if I don't follow the plan exactly so I did pacing, lay on the floor, took extra Meds, mindfullness and thinking more clearly which does take the edge off. So I am booked in for real time ultrasound Physio, and nerve radio pulsing ablation. I am also going to take PEA which I may need to sell a kidney it costs so much in Australia. Apparently we are way behind the rest of the world with pain management. The highest dose of melatonin on prescription is 2mg! I've heard it's up to 30mg in America and even more in South Africa.

Dipbop, you've really got a lot on your plate! Can you use heat, ice, or a tens unit? They now have those OTC Tens in the pharmacy. I don't knows how well they work, but maybe it could help. I'll be praying your treatment works well and your workload won't be too much when you return. Hugs!! 🙂💕🙏🌼

The proper dose of melatonin is 2 mg. Melatonin can be dangerous in high dosages.

Thankyou Flappys And LMB It's so good to have your calm thoughts to unwind my brain when I'm in a pain flare 😜 the insurance commission is wanting more detail about my treatment next week so my lawyer has been email and ringing me for more info so the insurance will approve. I gave them two management plans from the pain clinic but I think they wanted to know what note my bum plays when I fart! Sorry for being crass but I was sick of it because the lawyer has consent to chase up all my medical info and I told them to start doing their job because I'm STRESSED and still at work ARRRGH! So I'm booked in for 10 days of treatment which the transport accident commission is yet to approve even though it has been deemed essential. Life sure is funny isn't it. I reckon it will all work out in the end and I need just chill out. One more day at work and I go to the big city for pain relief WOOHOOO

Dipbop, I am sorry that you are dealing with all this stress. It's the last thing anyone who suffers chronic pain needs!! I hope and pray that when you do to the big city for pain relief that they are able to give you a significant and sufficient decline in your pain. By the way, did you ever figure out what note your bum plays when you fart?? (Just in case they ask..LOL!!😜). I'll be praying for you and sending you positive vibes and gentle {{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻🌻😊
